• I have an issue with FLAGS and BDAYS...

From paulie420@21:2/150 to All on Fri Feb 19 17:56:03 2021
I do not collect birthdays as a part of my new user apply process.
I allow my users to give themselves an access flag, A, on their own - but they must verify their age to make sure they're 21+.
This poses an issue, because with a simple user listing you can see all users who now have their birthdays in my system...

This is problematic because of what the A flag actually represents.

I've thought about this, and don't know... in the user listing, can I just change the string to take away the birthday listing part?

Or, will I need to write a new MPL for user listing so that birthdays aren't something thats displayed?

Or, am I missing some other easy/medium way to handle this?

I don't want my users who have verified their BDAYS to be able to be seen...

Thanks; I can already think of a couple ways to handle this, but figure maybe someone out there has an angle I'm not thinking about... might be as easy as changing a string in the prompts, but I don't know.

    Thanks, ladies and gents... cheers.

PS, Paulie's Private Pin-Up Collection is a h00t. 1960 and below Irving Klaw and other artists video and photo collections... nothing above 1960. w00t w00t.

If you're using the default user listing, it's actually part of Mystic, and can't directly be changed.

Or, will I need to write a new MPL for user listing so that birthdays aren't something thats displayed?

That is always an option. :)

Yep -- it's in prompts #29 (heading) and #30 (actual lines).

    From the modified prompts.txt here:

    ; User list header
    029 PIPECLPIPECR PIPE09éPIPE$D73ˇPIPE01ØPIPECR PIPE09üPIPE17 ń PIPE15User ListingPIPE$D58 PIPE16PIPE01üPIPECR PIPE09·PIPE01PIPE$D73ˇėPIPECR PIPE10UPIPE02sernPIPE02amePIPE07PIPE$D20 PIPE10LPIPE02ocationPIPE07 PIPE10LPIPE02astPIPE10OPIPE02nPIPECR PIPE09PIPE$D73ˇ

    ; User list format:
    ; &1 = Alias &3 = Last on &2 = City &4 = gender &5 = sec lvl &6 = Address
    ; &7 = Age &8 = email &9 = usernote &0 = opt1 &A = opt2 &B = opt3
    030 PIPE07PIPE$R27PIPE&1 PIPE$R27PIPE&2 PIPE&3

(Replace PIPE with actual pipe characters. Some of the CP437 characters didn't fare well when copying and pasting here, I see... but it gives the general idea, and prompt #030 is the most important one.)

    Best regards

Ok, thanks... I was told by others that I could take birthdays out of the stock User Listing, but I hope your right and I HAVE read all the info you've posted. I see it, too... I'll start there, as opposed to writing an MPL or whatever.

Thank you for pulling that data out of Mystic for me. Appreciated and extracted... thanks.

Yea it's definitely in there and removable. The little help screen will show you what you can display (or not display) with special mci codes (%1 or something)

Check your user listing strings in the prompts editor.

In mine I just show the user name, user note, and last login date.

If I misunderstood your question then I apologize - let me know.
