Want to setup the file areas for all of my FTN message networks, but want to put all areas in one file group. [File Group z2: FTN File Areaz]
    Is that OK?

I already have tons of files sitting in the IN folder.... .TIC and .ZIPs.
Will Mystic catch them all and throw them to the right directories once I setup

    the areas and .ini files?

I've been told to make sure I use "z2" for access codes in.... the .ini file? What needs to be setup in any .ini? FileToss? - I'm not horrible at setting up Mutil .ini's, but... any help on what all sections need to be setup.

Anything else? Since I'm doing one big File Group for all FTN File Areas should

I use one /files path? Guess it don't really matter... might be nice to separate them anyway.

    -----
    One last thing . . .

I really need to get around to finalizing any mutil maintenance setups. I just did the BBS Adverts with PostText[?]...

And I wish I knew how many .ini's a normal install needs? And which one(s) will

I be editing for the file areas?

THANKS - I will get it ironed on my own BUT appreciate the few replies I know I'll get here. w00t w00t!

    I don't think there is a "normal" number of .ini's - I have quite a few going:

    mailout.ini
    mailin.ini
bbsad.ini - posts BBS ad in various areas (currently inactive)
nodelist.ini - takes nodelists from various ftn file areas and compiles them weather.ini - posts current weather 3 times per day
horoscope.ini - posts daily horoscope once per day
maint.ini - run once per day in the middle of the night

I'm sure there has to be someone out there with more.

I use mailin.ini to toss both mail and files at the same time, no point in running mutil twice after receiving mail and/or files from your hub.

... Yesterday, a clown held the door open for me. It was such a nice jester!

Jay, thanks... this is all great information and I have a similar setup - I am gonna have to update a few things, because... I don't have the nodelist update going on - but that will be easy to implement after adding the FTN file areas... and your post WAS very helpful to me. Thanks much, I appreciate it - I

bet a lot of [newer] Mystic Sysops are NOT running their systems in intelligent

ways, through the use of .inis, events and scripting...

I'm getting there - and your details will help a bit.
