I'm back after being idle for about a year, BBS still continued to poll while I've been AWOL. Looks like while I'mve been gone, there's been some mystic releases. What is the best upgrade path from A39 to A45 (I assume this is
what I should be running at this point).

I would get yourself upgraded to A43. Download 1.12 A43 from: www.mysticbbs.com/downloads

Then do these instructions to get yourself upgraded to A43. Once you are on A43 then I would make sure have a backup, and then download A45 and follow
the instructions in "upgrade.txt" for how to upgrade from A43 to A44. Once those are done you will be at the current A45 version:

- Replace existing binaries with the new alpha binaries:

mystic.exe
mis.exe
fidopoll.exe
mutil.exe
nodespy.exe
qwkpoll.exe
upgrade.exe
mplc.exe (in scripts directory)
mide.exe (in scripts directory)

- If you use default installation replace the default.txt from DATA with the
newer one, otherwise the following prompts have been modified or changed
and will need to be updated/added to your custom themes:

Changed prompts: 18, 419, 420, 463, 486
New prompts: 538-552

- Copy "msg_index.ini" from the TEXT folder into your TEXT folders
- Copy "msg_index.ans" from the TEXT folder into your TEXT folders
- Copy "msg_index_help.ans" from the TEXT folder into your TEXT folders

- Copy "cfgroot4.ans" from the DATA folder into your DATA folder

- Copy userchat.ans and userchat.ini from the TEXT folder into your TEXT
folder

- Execute upgrade.exe

- Recompile MPL programs (mplc-all)

Yes, whenever I fix something or make a meaningful change I try to put the latest builds of what will be beta 19 in the prealpha folder.

I think I've fixed the majority of issues I knew about now.

Are you running it from the desktop? Netrunner uses SDL (I think) so you
need to run it from the desktop with xorg and friends.

It won't run from the console but nodespy will. :)

My understanding is upgrade to A44, then once A44 is working properly, upgrade from there to A45.

Try this it worked for me.

If you use Ubuntu you can probably install SDL2 using the following command:

sudo apt-get install libsdl2-dev

Straight from the Netrunner Manual :^)

They show up in my FTP client I don't know I think that would be up to the browser and web server to do that.

I would have to generate a web page for each update in order to show that if the browser/client you're using doesn't do it.

Ahh yes that was intentional. I think the idea of a status bar might be going away and the connection details are found on the Window Title instead. I may or may not stick with it that way.

In order for NetRunner to work with full capabilities you need to compile
SDL2 2.0.10 and CryptLib.

Yes, previous versions work fine, Its only the latest prealpha build I've had this issue with.
