Does anyone have a collection of all Mystic versions available on their BBS?

The reason I'm asking, is because I want to migrate from the WIN32 version of 1.10 a11 to the latest LIN64 version.

I assume the best way to do this would be to install the LIN64 version of
1.10 a11, copy the data from my WIN32 installation, and then begin upgrading, one at a time, if necessary.

I put a ton of work into my old Windows Mystic BBS, and it would be really painful to recreate all that from scratch. That BBS was like a 40 hour per
week job for me back in 2014 (Ok, more like a 40 hour per week hobby.)

The only BBS I call regularly is Alcoholiday, but I will do some exploring
and see what everyone's got up for download...

    I have 1.10, 1.11 and a few alphas but I don't think that'll be any help.

There was no linux64 version until somewhere in the 1.12 path.

I feel you. It is possible to migrate from Windows <-> linux but I have not done that. I'd upgrade from 1.10 to 1.11 and then to 1.12.

Get a good backup of your existing 1.10 setup before proceeding.. you might need to run through the upgrade more than once to get it right.

I think there is a section in the wiki with info on the Windows to Linux conversion but I haven't done that, perhaps someone who has can give you pointers.

    on in years.

The BBS is still in development, but you can grab all of the old archives there.

My MagickaBBS is probably best at trmb.ca, port 2023 telnet or 2024 ssh.

You can also check the website or ftp at trmb.ca on the standard ports.

I did this migration this summer as my board sat on 1.10 for 7 years. If I remember correctly, Each version will walk you through what to change. It's
not worth it except to keep your users.dat.

Pro-tip: Install 1.10 in it's own directory, copy over users.dat to data dir. Run mystic and ensure the users are showing up. Then install 1.11, copy over users.dat, run the upgrade or read the upgrade doc. Do it again for 1.12.
Then copy over all your texts/ansis/scripts and get to work.

each of those versions. I'm going to try your board again.

They're there. All of 1.10 - 1.12 is on the main portion of that link, then scroll down to see the /old/ directory, which has all the old versions, starting with the first release.

Oh man you're talking about upgrading through like 10 years of updates!

I think what I would do is download 1.11 and see if there are upgrade instructions to go from 1.10 to 1.11 (there should be) and follow them in Windows.

Once you are on 1.11 you can download the 1.12 A39 upgrade and jump straight from 1.11 to A39 using the instructions. Then you can go from A39 to the latest.

I agree its worth just doing a fresh installation than to go through 10 years of upgrades unless you want to preserve users. Re-modding is a good way to learn how things have changed since then too.
