• Prealpha updates A43 SysOps please read!

From g00r00@21:1/108 to All on Sat Mar 2 22:46:36 2019
I have updated the Prealphas on mysticbbs.com for all operating systems except for the Raspberry Pi. But don't worry the Pi will be released in an hour or so when I can get it compiled.

If you are using the A43 line of prealphas please make sure to upgrade to this version. There is a bug that has existed in only the A43 prealphas that can expose Netmail messages that were generated by the new convenience features from the System Configuration (Netmail SysOp, Unsubscribe, etc).

If you have used those features you may also want to go through your Netmail
as soon as you can to delete messages you created using the System Configuration editor.

ANY MESSAGES CREATED BY THE BBS/MUTIL, ETC ARE ALL FINE. Only the Netmail created by those new features had a problem where the private flag was not being saved correctly.

Very sorry this slipped through the cracks, but once again this has only affected a few of the A43 prealpha builds only so if youre A42 or A43 and haven't used those System Configuration features yet then you're fine.

Oh forgot to mention that this was only a factor if you had your base configured as public (ie Private flag turned off). If you had it private you were not affected be this. So NETMAIL bases with Private set to No in A43
only when using the System Configuration were affected.

Also if you downloaded the prealpha right as I announced it, please download
it again. The first upload was a bad compile and the FileToss function will not free up BUSY nodes. This has been fixed shortly after and new files have been uploaded (except the Pi I am still compiling that as we speak)

I pulled this down should it be dated 02/26 ?

    Perhaps I mis-dialled? :)

That doesn't seem right. What does my origin say? I literally downloaded
this from the prealpha page when I updated this BBS. Let me double check the Windows version.

    v1.12 A43 Windows/32 Compiled 2019/03/03 01:34:52

Making progress now, for some weird reason the browser would pull the old version I had to clear it's cache to sort it.

I could pull the correct version down fine on a another box and different browser... just updating 1/101 and soon 1/100

Okay yeah that is really weird. I also freaked out because I saw my Linux version was March 2nd. It turns out I just had the time zone wrong on my new Linux development VMware that I just built...

But I freaked out and thought I was in the Twilight Zone for a minute. I kept compiling Mystic and it would only spit out an old version! AHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Is it safe to say the messages sent using the system config would NOT have
the Priv flag listed in the message stats line?

I don't believe I've used that to send netmail but I'm not sure. But all netmail messages do have the Priv flag.

You are fine then, yes the bad messages would NOT have the Private flag.

In order for you to have it happen you'd have to have your Netmail base set to "Private: No" along with having used the System Configuration to send a Netmail within the past 2 weeks after upgrading to one of the last couple of prealpha builds. It is fixed in the latest build.

Hopefully that means there are few instances of this actually happening but I felt I should get the word out so SysOps can go look and delete any messages without the private flag.

My system wasn't affected either because I had my Netmail base set to Private
