    From Avon@21:1/101 to g00r00 on Sat Mar 2 15:26:52 2019
    Something seems amiss..

    At 1/100 I have this set

    forward = Paul;Avon
    forward = Paul H;Avon
    forward = P Hayton;Avon
    forward = Avon;Paul Hayton
    forward = Paul Hayton;Paul Hayton@21:1/101

    I sent myself a test message to Paul Hayton at 1/100 from 1/101 but saw it started to loop between to the two systems...

    I then saw other messages coming in from nodes I'd asked to test things by netmailing me at 1/100 and saw them routed to 1/101 but then 1/101 would
    route them back to 1/100 and an infinite loop began.

    Hub logging

    Here's one from Joe set to me at 1/100 then routed correctly to 1/101
    I also sent a test from a bogus /999 node as well (you'll see that later).

    - Mar 02 14:32:56 unzip -oqqjC "c:\mystfsx\echomail\in\00000059.fr1"
    "*.pkt" -d c:\mystfsx\temputil\
    + Mar 02 14:32:56 Importing 0103d434.pkt (21:1/189 to 21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 14:32:56 Forward Joe Werle (21:1/189) to Paul Hayton (21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 14:32:56 Forward Joe Werle (21:1/189) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 14:32:56 Route (21:1/189 to 21:1/101) via 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:32:56 Encrypting msg

    But it seems the 1/101 is sending it back again

    + Mar 02 14:33:22 Importing 01811f15.pkt (21:1/100 to 21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 14:33:22 Route (21:1/189 to 21:1/100) via 21:1/100

    Then at the HUB back it goes to 1/101 etc.

    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Importing 01042adb.pkt (21:1/107 to 21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Forward nugax (21:1/107) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Route (21:1/107 to 21:1/101) via 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Encrypting msg
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Importing 018122b0.pkt (21:1/101 to 21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Forward Joe Werle (21:1/189) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Route (21:1/189 to 21:1/101) via 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Encrypting msg
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Forward Avon (21:1/101) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Route (21:1/101 to 21:1/101) via 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 14:37:03 Encrypting msg

    I ended up just removing the key line in the mailin.ini

    forward = Paul;Avon
    forward = Paul H;Avon
    forward = P Hayton;Avon
    forward = Avon;Paul Hayton
    ;forward = Paul Hayton;Paul Hayton@21:1/101

    Things stopped looping

    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Importing 018351e7.pkt (21:1/101 to 21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Netmail from nugax (21:1/107) to Paul Hayton (21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Netmail from Joe Werle (21:1/189) to Paul Hayton (21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Netmail from Avon (21:1/101) to Paul Hayton (21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Decrypting msg from 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 15:00:22 Netmail from Jim Smith (21:1/999) to Paul Hayton (21:1/100)

    At 1/101 the forward lines look like this in the ini

    forward = Paul;Paul Hayton
    forward = Paul H;Paul Hayton
    forward = P Hayton;Paul Hayton
    forward = Avon;Paul Hayton

    Normally this all works fine at 1/101

    I did another test with the key forward line commented out at 1/100 and
    sent a netmail from my test /999 to Paul H via 1/100

    So at 1/100 the .ini had this setup

    forward = Paul;Avon
    forward = Paul H;Avon
    forward = P Hayton;Avon
    forward = Avon;Paul Hayton
    ;forward = Paul Hayton;Paul Hayton@21:1/101

    At 1/100 I saw this

    + Mar 02 15:22:08 Importing 018556af.pkt (21:1/999 to 21:1/100)
    + Mar 02 15:22:08 Forward Jim Smith (21:1/999) to Avon (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 15:22:08 Forward Jim Smith (21:1/999) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 15:22:08 Route (21:1/999 to 21:1/101) via 21:1/101
    + Mar 02 15:22:08 Encrypting msg

    and at 1/101 this worked fine and in it came.

    + Mar 02 15:22:15 Importing 018599b5.pkt (21:1/100 to 21:1/101)
    + Mar 02 15:22:15 Decrypting msg from 21:1/100
    + Mar 02 15:22:15 Netmail from Jim Smith (21:1/999) to Paul Hayton (21:1/101)

    so in sum, something may be amiss with the new feature in the forwarding :)

    Excuse the long winded post!

    Best, Paul

    Okay thanks for testing it. I will have to set up a test here and see what I can come up with!

    No probs, I'll try and run some more tests also to see if I can spot anything further also. I wondered if it was something in the packet info when it was rewritten to head to 1/101? I can't figure out why 1/101 would want to send
    it right back to 1/100

    My guess is the packet is set to a destination of 1/100 but the message in the packet is set to 101.
