Anyone tried out weather balloon tracking and reporting?

A local ham and friend of mine Denny AD3O turned me onto this. https://sondehub.org It's a network of stations to receive the telemetry from weather balloons. Kind of a neat thing to try out and I think I might give it a whirl as the season goes on.

Negative, but I do tend to watch them from time to time on my ADS-B stuff.

Thanks for this, you seem to be a fantastic source of information on radio stuff I've never heard of or tried :)

    Yet...

    Just another old Nerd Bob,

I got my packet station running again here too and that's been the real excitement of late. I hope to report on the status of the BBS scene via HF radio soon.

I love the sound of that - I'm not sure what the UK license has to say about it (I think you need a notice of variation to do any kind of unattended radio) and I don't have an HF set so... unlikely to be dipping my toe any time soon!

Will be keeping an eye open to see how you get on :)
