• Farewell to sunny Frankston

From Spectre@21:3/101 to Anyone on Fri Jul 1 22:42:00 2022
Its not as final as it sounds. But come tomorrow, I'll be off with family in tow, to see a niece in the land of the banana benders. That be Queensland for those not in the know.

Said visit has to do with Child Services, and taking custody of said child.
One departed son, and one peanut mother that has seen the girl in foster care the last two years. And removed from her "mother" by child protection twice that I know of. So it'll be about a week and a bit on the road with a couple
of stopovers for extra family along the way.

Knowing how this Buh-Buh-Suh thing works here, I imagine it'll keep polling like a champeen, but the nodes will fall over within a few days after they get hammered by weekend hackers. Be good.

    See you in the Soup,
    Spec

Enjoy the trip - at least the weather should be warmer :)

Does that mean you are assuming parenting responsibilities again?

Gah, warm and wet? The forecast for sydney and even brisbane reads like Vic
at the moment... 16-17c and rain. In fact they've put out flood warnings again.. so.. should make for an interesting drive.

Does that mean you are assuming parenting responsibilities again?

There was a time, I didn't think any parenting responsibilities were within
my extended outlook. But yes this is again the case. I s'pose it'll do one
of two things... liven me up, or hasten me to my grave :P

    Take care,

It seems the TV Show Bluey is based on some real life locations in Queensland, so perhaps you can start a "Bluey" tour for international tourists up there.

Safe travels Spec... by the time you read this your system will have reliably polled for packets some 20k times and your trip may have been and gone :)

A bit of both, I managed to pop up for a read briefly, some 4 days ago.. but was passing through on someone elses laptop and time was tight so no
answering. Travels went well enough, although the handbrake decided to share her cold with me on day 2, after she'd had it for a week or so. Made life a bit less exciting, but all things considered no real problems.

Good stuff, glad to hear you're on the mend. Yes I picked up a bit of a head cold last week and did a few RAT tests to confirm it was nothing else. I have been staying with parents for the last 5 days now. So far so good. Over the last year there have been more visits than in the past but they just need more help these days, and that's fine too... it's just the joys of getting old I guess.. :)

    Spoiler:

Bluey is a austrlian cartoon about a "Blue Healer" dog and her(?) family.
It's sown on the non-commercial tv station here, and has a *huge*
    following.

Bluey is a kids TV program on SBS. It's made in Queensland, and is a cartoon about a family of Blue Heelers. The two girls in the fakily have active imaginations. It's pretty good, my children enjoy it very much.

I'm afraid no it's not. My 2020 setup of Bluey:

    https://youtu.be/LbAJc9LaUd0

I'm not as skilled as the other one. Unfortunally the video of bluey had
to be taken from the computer software that's used to put it together.

I didn't take any video's of the 2021 display. I only have my phone to
record with, and haven't found someone to record a better quality video
    for me.
