    Hey

Does anyone have ecomstation or Arca Noae OS?

I have ecomstation, and it's mostly been unused since i bought it. So I
thought I'd mess around and make a little bbs for it. I'm using OpenWatcom C.

So far I have a telnet server executable that loads a bbs executable and
passes it the socket no and node no. I think that's pretty ordinary for bbses.

The bbs executable says HELLO! and quits, so it's not exactly finished yet.

This is just to have a play and see what i can do with os/2 based os. If anyone is interested i will attempt to make it available to play with. Not
sure if open source or not. I don't even know if git runs on os/2.

Oh and I am out of ideas for names for BBSes. Perhaps YET ANOTHER BBS or something?

All very good names. I should have said names for bbs software rather
    than BBS names.

But now I really want to make a BBS called the fat sandwich.

You know, back in the day. (Jeez I feel like my father!) I wanted to name a
BBS "The Fat Bastard BBS" At the time I was becoming the title (had quit smoking and was literally becoming as big as a house) and I was a bastard..
It would have fit perfectly.. LOL Hmm with everything I have now, maybe I
    will do that! LOL

Yeah, I would be willing to play around with it :) I have two VMs set
up for ArcaOS, one running my FTN mailer stuff and one running as a
development system, yes, with Watcom C++ for OS/2 :)

Oh and I am out of ideas for names for BBSes. Perhaps YET ANOTHER BBS
    or something?

LOL! Are you going to run it under ArcaOS/eComStation?

... Gone crazy, be back later, please leave message.

    Not

git works, I have arca noe and it has an apt package manager that has git and also a relatively modern gcc. "Paul's Ports" has lots of OS/2 version of modern stuff. I've toyed with revitalizing the os/2 port of wwiv but haven't made any real progress. I really just want a bash shell there :)

    Hey
Does anyone have ecomstation or Arca Noae OS?

I don't have either, but I still have an OS/2 system that I have not booted
up in a while. It used to run my DOS BBS so that I could set it up with
telnet (until the script kiddies killed vmodem and I got the bbs working with linux/dosemu).

If you do get anyone interest in it, I would be willing to help test it some.

I actually have both, here, but use one of my ArcaOS VMs for development
work and the other to run as my main FTN mail system alongside a
    Telegard/2 + FrontDoor/2 setup :)

My OS/2 BBS runs under eCS 2.2 beta.

    LOL, that's pretty barebones...

Netlabs does have git for OS/2 in their yum repository.

I have real hardware running Arca and a few Thinkpad laptops that have
it installed. The desktop that I have running it is running my
Telegard/2 BBS. I haven't messed with it much in awhile, but it is
    still there running.
