Yep the last Git Pull worked and after recompiling I can now access that

I just ran the update script about an hour or two ago... mine is still
doing nothing when I choose the 'C' option. Well, nothing as in it
redisplays the main menu. I guess that is not nothing. :)

I broke the update script a little while back when I redid the Makefiles.

To update now, install libmicrohttpd-dev from your repository, then:

    cd MagickaBBS/src/MagickaBBS
    git pull
    make cleanwww

Should be ok not doing it. It just cleans out the source tree, it's
necessary if you're switching between the www and non-www version but
otherwise make should detect newer files and compile them.

If you have problems, it might be good to try, but if it's working fine,
    I wouldn't worry about it :)

Ah OK all good thanks. Say let me know when you are about on the server and I will try to confirm I can connect and pass a 'hello' to you :)

I have hopped on a few times but no one is about. I must say I tend to prefer echomail to live chat as at least you can read messages when you want and the conversation is shared with the whole community.

That said, I completely understand why folks enjoy immediate chat aka IRC,
    MRC, Magicka chat etc.

Yep, I totally agree. At present it would only really be useful if there
were a group of us chatting at a set time or something, because as it is
we're always going to miss each other.

I just figured rather than each board running their own magichat server
for internode chatting, one central one might be better.

I'm planning on writing a GUI chat program that can be used seperatly,
mainly so I can idle in there all the time, rather than try and stay
connected to the bbs (and get booted for inactivity). It might be a good
way then to support people who have questions.

I just have to get motivated to do write it.

I've done a ton of work on the chat today, it now word wraps, you can
input more that 80 chars in one 'line' (up to 256) and it now has dum dum
    dum dahh colour :D

Colour required quiet a bit of re-jiging the code, it seems to work, but
you know will probably fail under more testing who knows.

It uses mystic pipe codes, and you can enter them into your chat as well
as the normal styling (colouring names, server messages, personal
    messages etc).

A desktop GUI client would be quite useful, if it can do notifications (like flashing the taskbar icon or popup notifications) on incoming chat messages.

After that message it should list some files that have been changed since checkout..

If you changed them and want to keep the changes, just rename them so the
pull will work, if you didn't it might be picking up base64 which I
    accidently committed a while back.

I did not recognize any of them so I doubt I changed them, but...

Would I be better off starting over so that I have the proper directory structure?

It's up to you, it might be easier. You should be able to just delete the files it lists and then git pull, but you will probably need to update the users.sq3 with the perl script.

I've re installed it so many times I can't count. ;) I do have everything
working correctly and have started to modify the strings, as well as
the menus. Even changed some of the scripts around a bit. ;) I'm loving
how fast and simple it is to use, no endless config menus like in mbse.
