    Hi

I've been working on the interbbs side of things today, and made a number
    of improvements.

    1. Reworked the packet system, now there is no longer a 60 second timeout
for waiting to send packets, and packet name generation should no longer
create duplicate names within a 1 month period.

    2. Added a game_id check. When the game is reset it generates a random
game_id, this will stop stale packets from old games getting imported
    into new games.

    3. Resetting the game as the coordinator will now automatically reset the
game locally. Just a convinence for avon so he just has to type
    GalacticDynasty reset.

I think these changes will fix the missing return of troops after battle.
I am fairly certain it was caused by duplicate packet names, which should
    no longer happen.

Finally, I wanted to float an idea with regards to transport costs for
interbbs battles. So to send an interbbs battle you would have to pay for supplies etc then send them on their way. This would stop people sending
troops to battle to avoid paying their wages :P

    Andrew...
Great idea. I like it. Makes it more Real-World like. Now if you could only simulate the Off-Base parties for the soldiers like we used to have in Germany... That could get interesting... :)

    Great work.

I've been working some on my Break the web... Had to fix an issue if someone log onto the game but does not select their Region/Home... They are like a ghost with no home... So noone could attack them... Got that fixed...
    :)

I'm pretty keen too. I know there's bugs in the current version you have running, and I think before adding too many new features and introduce
new bugs, it would be good to update.

The only bug I believe I haven't solved is the negative score thing, it
may be sort of fixed, but I think we really need some "win the game"
thing that happens otherwise with ever growing scores it doesn't matter
how big i make the variable to store it in.

We could say for now who ever reaches negative scores first wins the game
    lol.

I guess if it get's updated it will be hatched. I'm up to build 86 on my
    site.

I haven't tested the most recent build on windows yet, should probably do
    that before updating.

The only time I do that, is when I don't have enough to pay them... That's usually when I'm in the negative score though... :)

    Keep up the great work!

I think having a win scenario would be the best option. I know you were thinking about completing the command ship as being the end game. In the

Well that wont do at all haha. Perhaps a score target instead?

I've just started dividing the scores by 100, seems they were starting
out at about 2000, now they'll start out about 20.

I've also just after much swearing and grumping manged to get the
interest rates at least displaying on windows.

I'm thinking we bite the bullet and let Avon upgrade, we can sort out a
win scenario after we see how this game plays out, obviously not by
command ship building given how quickly you built it :P

I'm fine with an upgrade, whenever he wants to do it. We'll keep working the 'undocumented features' out of the game. ;)

I'm not really sure how I would do that. If it helps I do tag releases
whenever a version gets hatched out.

If you've got the latest right now, it's the right version. If later
on you want to get the release tag you can download a tarball from the
releases page on git hub, I am sure there is a git command to switch to a tagged release also.

I noticed that after I got it set up on here, Avon hatched out the source
code archive... :) Perhaps I should have just waited a few more minutes...

If you've got the latest right now, it's the right version. If later
on you want to get the release tag you can download a tarball from the releases page on git hub, I am sure there is a git command to switch to a tagged release also.

As long as I have the right build, I'm alright. :) I still have to play
around with github some more, and learn more about how it all works.

    Thanks,

Doesn't one of them use long integer and the other use word, or something like that? If that's all it is, I might be able to make it work on fp.

i remember doing this to some doors

    Uses
    {$IFDEF MSDOS}
    crt, dos,
    {$endif}
    {$IFDEF win32}
    crt, dos,use32,
    {$endif}

OK troops I have hatched the latest version uploaded to me by Andrew will work on getting it installed at the HUB over the next 24 hours. W post here when done.

    Thanks :)

Would it be possible to please add me to the game when you set it up?

    I'm a bit nervous lol

Working on things now, I think you may already be added.

You were, node 3 as Cauldron, the filebox had some 195 *.GAL files in there waiting for you. I have deleted them.

Have renamed your entry to reflect the new BBS name and also removed node 5 (Encom BBS) from the list as he's no longer running.

Someone else wanted to join? I need to put a post out here and in the general echo to ask for any other systems that was to be added.

But for now I will filebox the updated BBS.CFG to everyone who is active and send a reset out in the coming hours.

I have just updated the 1/10 Usenet/Games HUB to run build 97 of the game. So that's the version I am hoping we're all migrating to :)

I'm not sure I am having joy running the league reset

The switch and the batch file that ships with the game are one in the same
    name

If I run the .exe with the /reset switch I am getting an unable to read drop file pop up.

Another thought / request.... can you add to the .ini file the ability to set the path for the logging files. I have a bunch of them in my game directory
and have manually moved them to a \logs sub directory for now but being able
to tell the game where to put them would be great :)
