• Dropping a connection.

From Gregory Deyss@21:1/127 to All on Thu Jan 31 19:20:42 2019
    Hello All,
Has anyone experienced dropping a connection when in the middle of writing a message, I gotta say this is most irritating. - specially when writing a long response and then it the middle of it the system locks up where as you lose
all action of the keyboard. moments later it disconnects.
I am using netrunner on the laptop and connected via telnet to my own bbs.

What would cause this? How can it be prevented?
or is windows or kaspersky to blame.

Doesn't mystic save drafts when you get disconnected? I know it has a
draft saving feature, but unsure how it works.

No idea. I use syncterm and it seems to work fine when I use it, maybe
it's your wifi ? (assuming the laptop is using wifi?)

If you are using Mystic it should save a draft of your message that you can continue when you log in next.

It did not seem to offer this option upon logging back in.
system seemed seemed a bit sluggish then it locked up shortly there after, I was disconnected.

This does not happen a lot.

If you don't have it configured to ask you on login, it won't. There is also a menu option on the message menu for draft messages in the default
installation and you can check there to see.

Does Kaspersky replace the windows firewall with its own? It could also possibly be NAT related in your router.

Yes, Kaspersky has disallowed many of the mystic executables from starting, but I have taken care of this as soon as it was noticed.

This dropping business does not happen a lot, I kinda know when it could
happen and often does when the system gets bogged down and there is a delay
in seeing the words appear as I am typing then it could happen. That would be my best guess.

But I do not know truly why this happens occasionally.
