Hey folks.. been awhile since I've posted in here.. but i have this crazy idea for a project in mind but I can't find a good FTN processor.. I tried Crashmail II but it corrupts the JAM bases and the BBS cannot read them ..
I saw something about FMail for Linux but I haven't found any links ..
and the Husky project is nothing but a huge headache to me lol

I believe FMail can be found on sourceforge.net.
Husky can be a PITA at first but once it is setup works well.
If you have questions about husky I might be able to help.
Mystic runs on Linux, so you may wish to look at MUTIL :)
Best, Paul

The only versions of FMail I have found on sourceforge were the Win32/DOS versions .. I thought Wilfred van Velzen was the developer of the LNX port? The search continues I suppose lol

I just need to know which modules I need for a fully functional tosser with areafix+filefix+tic support
lol Avon :D I run Mystic .. I am setting up something a little different for another project BBS using EleBBS/Linux so I need something that wont corrupt the jam base like Crashmail does

For a list, look at the JAM Message Base Format section of Wikipedia (I can't paste the link). Among others, the list includes fastecho and
gecho. You can try either or both of them. Also, for filefixing, allfix should do the job as well.
I'm just suggesting using the combo of Mystic and MUTIL to do the config of message JAM bases and tossing respectively. Once running you could
Those are all DOS.. as stated I'm looking for FMail/Linux
Already had that idea and dismissed it. I dont want to 'make do' on this new project lol
My bad... Theoretically you could use dosemu to run any of them. lol! Joking aside, you could also take Avon's advice and use mystic/mutil to make the message bases and toss messages to them, while pointing EleBBS
at the files. It's kind of what I like to call Southern Engineered, but it'd work since JAM is JAM.
1) dosemu is broken .. it crashes every time it tries to unzip a file
with PKUNZIP ... go figure lol

I don't generally have that problem, but you could always try raising the amount of files and buffers you can open. Have you tried using a newer version of Freedos? Or maybe MS-DOS. DR-DOS, or the like? Also, have a look at dosemu2 on github. It's a fork that's being actively developed. There are ways to get around most crashes, you just have to look for
them. :)
I appreciate all the feedback on this topic, but I do not wish to pursue any of these 'make do' routes. I will keep searching for native tools so
I dont have to niggah rig stuff to make it work. It's 2019 not 1999 lol there is always a proper solution to a problem if one has the fortitude
to be persistant :D

I can appreciate the wisdom of these words!
