Anyone use GameSrv? I am thinking about setting it up to run an inhouse game server. Doing this will put all of my doors in 1 spot so all of my BBS' can access them without having to install them on the different boards. Plus I think I will be able to use it with the Amiga board I am working on. I know
for the most part it is a stand alone product, but does anyone know if you
can use a BBS to telnet into it like Doorparty, Exodus etc.? I pretty much
just want to be able to telnet out of the BBS into the GameSrv and let it
pass through all of the user info from the BBS. Maybe it does, but I can't
see that from reading the docs that are available. Once again thanks.. After
I finish setting up the Synchronet board I am takng a break from setting
things up for a few weeks so the questions will be less.. LOL

Yep, telnet works just fine with it. It's what DoorParty used initially for
the first year before I switched over to Synchronet.

Try Valhalla bbs and I also have setup gamesrv for a couple of my boards like my WWIV in particular

Let me ask you a quick question. Do your users when they are accessing the Gamesrv from within your BBS have to enter a user name and password on the gamesrv? Or do you have it so it just jumps right in? This is something I am going to be doing down the line and want to have my plans laid out so it goes as smoothly as possible.. Any info you can give me would be appreciated..

Set it up as Rlogin from your bbs and gamesrv when user connects will automatically create an account and no fuss or muss. Ya just jump right on

scene.. This and my dialup node works!! Now I can move on from the nonsense

For Mystic, go to the menu where you want it, select the code for Rlogin and enter the data info. It is IR for the Rlogin command and in data, enter the addrs and port of your gamesrv. Try it here at pbmystic.rdfig.net:24

Hi Ruben, I tried that, and it goes out, but when it connects to the server I get a Exception: Error in ClientThread::Execut() (Object reference not set to an instance of an object.) Have no clue what that means..

I really hate to be asking all these questions, but nothing is going in easy! Jeez...
