I started adding QWK networking to magicka last night.

So far I have tossing working, and have a readonly dovenet setup at
    exotica.

    It's read only because I haven't written a scanner yet :)

It's very basic at present too, none of the fancy synchronet additions
    are there yet.

Wicked! :) I shall have to upgrade to 0.11 to test it out.

BTW, what is the git command to change the version again?

    Thanks!

Eventually! ;) I'll test that for you when you get it scanning... I am in
Dovenet via Agoranet FTN hub but may need to change soon so look forward
    to trying that out.

Also 80% moving the BBS to the new x86 linux VM!

    Yeah thanks :)

Funny you say that. Might take me a little while to complete though as
I've been a little tired I guess the last couple of days. You know when
you just can't kick your brain into gear to do anything that requires too
    much thought.

I'm sure I'll finish it soon.

I loaded up the board yesterday hoping to get a few things done since I'm on vacation and before I knew it I got next to nothing done and most of my shows were caught up on :P

    Way cool! :)

If you can I have a couple suggestions. QWK netmail. I don't think that is a standard QWK feature but it works well in Synchronet between QWK nodes. A QWK netmail looks like USER@QWKID, Al@TRMB in my case.

Also the ability to send and receive files between nodes. If I create an out directory in a QWK nodes qnet directory I can place files in there that will be saved in the qnet/NODEID/in directory at the other end when they poll the hub. That is very handy for things like InterBBS game files or other files for QWK nodes.

Those are probably not standard QWK networking ideas so you would need to look at the Synchronet source to see how it is done. I think it would be great to be able to do that with magicka BBSs. :)

The Synchronet QWKnet extensions you mentioned have been long-documented (almost as long as QWK itself) and is now on the wiki here: http://wiki.synchro.net/ref:qwknet

The more recent QWK extensions (e.g. HEADERS.DAT, VOTING.DAT) are not documented but pretty easy to figure out and of course I'm here to help (and write more docs).

For now I'm just concentrating on getting the standard stuff implemented,
once that's out of the way I'll look at adding the extensions.

Might be a little while as I've been a bit slack the last couple of days.

There is a document on the Synchronet wiki that details the Synchronet QWK extensions, so anyone can implement them. The features you're describing are part of those extensions.

    Yep, just floating ideas.. :)

Might be a little while as I've been a bit slack the last couple of days.

I don't know if you noticed, but I have. You've been on an incredible coding streak lately. Lots of updates to Magicka, Galactic Dynasty, For Honour, and a new terminal program among others.

By all means, take all the time you need!.. :)
