  • Magicka (new update)

    apam,

    Could you please guide me in the right direction to add the update to
    Magicka. I'm posting here as others may have need of the same thing. I've tried what was posted, but gotten an error. If you need the error, let me
    know what to do and if it happens again, I will reply (or at least to my
    memory [memory slips sometimes {lol}]).

    I will need the error, so I know what's going wrong. In a perfect world upgrading would be as simple as:

    cd MagickaBBS

    git pull

    git checkout v0.10-patch

    make cleanwww

    make www

    I am aware things don't always go to plan, so if it's not working, please
    let me know what errors you are getting, and what version you're updating
    from.

    The update to .10 went fine.

    It said:

    error: pathspec 'v0.11-patch' did not match any file(s) know to git.

    Yeah, there is no v0.11-patch yet, only v0.11-alpha

    I'll check back here when the 0.11 patch is available for Magicka. Great job!

    How can I update my system if I already have .09 installed so I don't lose anything?

    It's being worked on, but you can use it if you don't mind the occasional
    bug or three... just switch branches to v0.11-alpha.

    Once it's ready it will be changed to v0.11-patch and v0.12-alpha will be branched.

    First of all I would backup your existing system to a safe place. I would googled Magicka BBS software apam and it should bring up a link with information to update...don't recall the exact commands to upgrade .09 to
    .10, apam would be more of the person for that information. But that's what
    I would do if I didn't have anyone to help me out.
