I experienced a MAJOR crash before christmas. My HDD (ThunderDrive)
broke, and i lost my entire BBS. I KNOW i should have backup, but for
some weird reason i never did a backup of my BBS.
Please use CGterm to connect! Do not use CGterm or any other
ANSI based program.
With bandwidth and storage so cheap these days (and BBSs in general
being relatively small amounts of data) I wonder if there's any merit
into someone providing offsite backup services targetted to BBS
operators.

So sorry to hear this.

ummmmmmmm...
Yes, the commodore 64 doesnt use ANSI by default. My BBS uses PETSCII and you cannot use ANSI enabled clients for this, it will look like SHIT. CGterm also have Punter and Xmodem support. It also allows you to mount an .d64-file for download/upload.

Anyway, i want to welcome everyone to call my board, its running on a Commodore 128 (in 64 mode), with a ThunderDrive as storage... 9600 baud Swiftlink... Please use CGterm to connect! Do not use CGterm or any
other ANSI based program.

For a caller with a linux system, what terminal program would you recommend? I tried syncterm which, I suspect, is one of those "ANSI
based programs" that I should not have used. :)
Thanks!
