This is the First time I've distributed a game and I am nervous about how others are going to be able to set it up...

I've written a Sysop.Txt in the .zip file for you to follow for installation.

You can Download it at anotherbbs.bbsindex.com. It's in the fsx_net BBS Door Games folder.

Oh i dont think i told you but i killed a klingon the other day. On the original game you uploaded me. I started it up and there were at least 3 in the same little map.

1st world problems

Yeah, power was off for about 12 hours, I think because there was a crash
over the other side of town which must have brought power lines down so
they fixed that first, they eventually got here to fix it at about 4pm or
so, it had been off since about 5am. We have a small supermarket across
the road, I bet they were more upset about the frozen stuff going bad
than us. It's frustrating to lose that food, but we'll still eat so all
will be good :)

I got this set up on exotica now. The installation on dosemu was fairly straight forward.

Thanks for uploading it :) I went and downloaded it from your BBS before
I realized you had uploaded it to me haha.

Seems to work well, but I've not had a chance to sit down and play it
yet.

It is not Win32...

It supports these Dropfiles

Door32.sys
Door.sys
Dorinfo#.def
Chain.txt (WWIV)
TRIBBS.SYS (TriBBS)
SFDOORS.DAT (Spitfire)
PCBOARD.sys (PC-Board 12)
PCBOARD.sys (PC Board 14)

It is written in Turbo Pascal 7.0 For DOS so it will require NetFoss to run.

I personally choose Dorinfo#.def.... But it will work on the other Drop-Files...

That's not really true, it works fine on linux. The only thing that's particularly different about it as far as I can tell is it has the
ability to specify it's a telnet connection and pass a socket handle. It
can pass com ports too though. There's no reason one couldn't implement a
door that uses it on DOS.

I know... I've given up on making DOS doors on my PI... Instead I created a Door Game Server that I can connect to from my PI...

It's Free and you can use it on your BBS if you want to...

Just Create a Menu Item in Mystic

(IT) External TELNET
Data: /addr=quazarbbs.dtdns.net /port=992

That will launch your users to the Quazar BBS Door Game Server, they can play all of the Door Games I have, many of them DOS Doors... It's up to you if
you want to use it... It's there, Free.... And if you have any doors you want to have on there, there is an Upload function there so you can Upload any
Door Game you would like, and I will get that setup there for you...

mystic is win32, *nix , pi no dos and i have 64b and it wont run 16b doors

Yeah, being a DOS door is a show stopper, I'll have to setup a game server - either on Win32 or a Linux machine running DOSemu.

My issue is one of architecture - I run on the R-Pi, so DOS doors are out, without jumping through a heap of hoops. If I can get hold of a decent low powered x86 machine, I might go down the DOSemu route one day. Both Linux and Win32 on netbooks are an option for experimentation and testing. :)
