• FG_WORF file distribution changes

From Vincent Coen@2:250/1 to All on Tue Jan 18 22:28:09 2022
    Hello All!

I have changed the way files within FG_WORF is produced and hatched:

FDNINFO.ZIP No change but all files have been updated and other than the .ZXX all have had some changes even if it is only for 2:250/1 and me to replace
Janis. How ever I have made some small changes else where and you all are invited to read them looking for suggested additional changes - I have tried to
remember to remove references to modem usage to internet etc., but some of the policies look some what outdated so suggestions there would help.

The two files FILEGATE.HDR and FILEGATE.ZXX are now in archives one each named :
FGATEHDR.ZIP for FILEGATE.HDR and this has had some minor mods made. FGATEZXX.ZIP for FILEGATE.ZXX again some very little changes if any to the one
    sent dated 15 Jan.

All three have a FILE_ID.DIZ file included - which was the reason for doing it as my system tools do not allow more than one line as a description..

Please change the way your system brings them in to the directories used for them as against the file base for FG_WORF.

I.e., on my system I had to auto extract them and place in my BBS internal directory for each as set up for processing by un-archiving them to (~/var/arealists) etc. Yours will be different.

One thing I will have to do subject to remembering is to ensure I use FILEGATE.HDR for virgin files uploaded from contributors who have not included it as a archive comment but internally I might well add to these comments regarding this system AND the filegate but ensure only the originals go out to downlinks - just have to work that out again as it has been a long time since it was initially set up.

You should all bet getting the original files as against the ones stored ion my
    system if not tell me.

For instance the .HDR looks like this ::

and I currently change it to one of two for bbs stored files:

I am gradually moving over to using the last one but as I do not have a procedure program to do so I cannot do it for the entire system only new ones although I did have when running Maximus 20+ years ago.

Will advise if there are any other changes that will affect BBS processing etc.

I will push these out in the next hour or two subject to process scheduling.
