From Alan Ianson@1:153/757 to Nigel Reed on Mon Nov 9 18:04:00 2020
    Hello Nigel,

My uplink already carries the echo, which is why I'm trying to find
    where the holdup is.

I think the problem is, is that the area is not listed in the backbone.na. The area doesn't exist on the backbone.

If someone were to elist the area and request it be added back to the backbone.na that would go a long way toward making the area generally available.

Until then the only thing to do is to peer with nodes that do have active links.

It could be added back to the backbone fairly quickly if someone took those steps.

    Ttyl :-),
    Al

The "backbone" doesn't matter for most of fidonet! ;)

    That's better in any case.

    Bye, Wilfred.

It still seems to matter to many nodes here in Z1.

    Yes, it's essential today.

Only for nodes that don't know any better. Anyone can connect anywhere for an echomail feed. And my advise would be to do so, and get atleast one extra feed, besides your "regular" (up)link.

    Bye, Wilfred.
