    afterwards...

Well I've just got the first disc so I'll reserve my thoughts until I get
all three for the first season.

I understand Discovery is going for another season which confuses me, I thought everyone in that series was either dead or forgotten.

Well, they made the jump to the 32nd Century, so Season 3 was all about
introducing how the universe is by then and setting the stage for their new adventures.

As far as I know, they have been renewed up to Season 6. Season 4 will start
    filming soon, Covid permittng.

Yesterday it was announced that CBS All Access will be converted to Parmount+ around March 5th in the USA. This means, at least for us, that the service where we watch Discovery, etc, will now house the Paramount library as well, which will hopefully include all the Trek films.

While it's annoying that we're now required to subscribe to so many different streaming services... it will be nice if all of Trek is gathered in one place.
Similar to how Disney+ has Star Wars.

Wait, I didn't hear about that?

Maybe I need to read more. Paramount+. Well, at least I'll get more Paramount movies and I can watch Star Trek in the correct order, Skip 1, Watch 2, 3, 4, Skip 5, Watch 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. :)

I can only hope that Paramount does this move here in Brazil as well.

Here Discovery and the older Trek series are streamed over Netflix, and Picard
is streamed over Amazon Prime. Also, no signs of Lower Decks, and the movies have recently been removed of Amazon Prime's grid.

At Amazon Prime they had the first movie upgraded to 1080p resolution.

I grabbed a glass of wine and saw it again - The visuals were SO much better...

I just could not get into the many "non cannon" things in Discovery the
two biggest being giving Spock a sister never mentioned anywhere else and
the races never seen of before or hear from again.

The "salty" language was not true Trek in my mind and as I said dno't think Gene would have approved of many things. Though I do see some surprising language in Picard. I've been through the first tso discs so far and the
last dusc of season one is due from Netflix either today or tomorrow. That will be a Saturday night watch.

Sill wating for a good tagline, I have not heard one yet.

I'm willing to give them a pass on this. I think it contributes to the story, and linking the main character into the lineage of Trek.

I agree, as a long time Trek fan, hearing "naughty words" in Discovery (and Picard) was a bit out of place. However, I did get used to it, and I think it adds to the realism they are trying to convey. Why wouldn't members of a unit not swear while in stressful situations?

Well, the impression that I had was that they handed over the series to people
that did not understand Trek fully. When they had noticed the mess they were in, it was decided that Season 2 would start the "fixing" process.

It got better, and now that they had a one-way trip to the 32nd century, they
will fare better being away from canon.
