    Why not split the effort with crowd-editing? <G> Dole out chunks of the file to the willing public and let them submit the cleaned up sections?

    Good lord..... I need to get into my back up cd's and see if I still have backup tagline files somewhere.

    Back "in the day", I used a fine editor called the B editor, or something like that. I used it on a modest 386pc over a network to a *nix-based computer to work on program files that were thousands of lines long. The editor was designed for programming (columns, line numbering, etc..) It was very fast, and never failed.
