• Nodes not showing as completing recycle after config changes

From Keyop Troy@1:103/705 to GitLab issue in main/sbbs on Sat May 21 16:41:09 2022
    open https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues/409

Usually after certain config changes, each node is marked as [R], until users have logged out and recycle takes place.Today, after making config changes both myself and nelgin are seeing results like this:Synchronet Node Display Module v1.12Node 1: Waiting for connectionNode 2: Waiting for connection [R]Node 3: Waiting for connection [R]Node 4: Waiting for connection [R]Node 5: Waiting for connection [R]Node 6: Waiting for connection [R]Node 7: Waiting for connection [R]Node 8: Waiting for connection [R]/opt/sbbs/exec/nodelist.js executed in 0.01 secondsBoth in the nodelist.js utility and umonitor.Node 1 seems to be fine, nodes 2+ are stuck with the [R] status.Running latest compiled code at the time of posting this issue.Thoughts?

That looks normal/expected. When node 2+ is connected to, it'll automatically reload the config.

Is this a recent feature, as previously the [R] would go before a new user logged in?

Yes, it was added in v3.19b.

This is what I was mentioning to you and Dan in IRC. It’s explained good enough for government work here:

    Yes, that's a decent explanation.

I still prefer my method: Stop the BBS when making config changes, and
then restart it. Avoids this issue altogether, and gives everything a
    "fresh start".

... As a matter of fact, it IS a banana in my pocket.

Poor choice of words on my part. Just talking about the [R] thing,
which I understand is a normal thing, but it was brought up for
discussion and I mentioned that it wouldn't be seen if the BBS was down
during config changes. Not really an issue.
