• Feature Request

From Ray Quinn@1:214/23 to All on Sat May 7 19:53:12 2022
I have an idea for a feature request.

I would like the ability to remove certain language from messages, both in existing messages and/or incoming. More specifically, profanity. I know the packet radio door will filter selected words, but as I do not use profanity in any communication form, speach, writing, etc., I would like to remove or filter with special characters.

I don't wish to censor anyone's thoughts or "speach," just words that may be offensive to some. For example: s**t p**s

    Just an idea.

Okay, feature requests are now being accepted/stored here: https://gitlab.synchro.net/main/sbbs/-/issues

The message text could be changed:

    1. at time of import
    2. in place, after import
    3. at time of read/view

I think '3' would give the most flexibility. '2' would probably be the easiest to implement.

Would that include feature requests for Syncterm?

I'd like to have a notes field in the dialing directory, was wondering
    where to ask.

No, SyncTERM feature requests go here: https://sourceforge.net/p/syncterm/feature-requests/

SyncTERM v1.2b already has a "comment" field (appears above the status bar). Hitting TAB while editing a dialing directory entry allows you to edit it.

WOW, that is sweet. I just tried it out on my MacBook, and I loved it. Thanks for the add.

    Hello Digital!

Good to know. Do you wish me to post it there, or just for future reference?

As the programmer, you would know. (Perhaps an option for each individual user to choose.) I wouldn't want to change anything in messages passed along to downlinks.
