    Hi Guys

If any of you was interested in hosting (or is hosting) USENET echos but were thrown off by the spam and dead areas, with Nick Andre's support I started the EchoMail Project to clean it up!

    Take a peek at https://echomailproject.org

    Have a great day.

PS I'll be moving my API over there as well so you'll be able to use it too.

Do you converse with Nick Andre often? I've tried emailing him twice because I was advised to "contact the network/zone coordinator to find out what that address should be" before I proceeded in setting up Fido on my board and have never heard back from him.

    Any ideas?

Skimming the FidoNet admin echos, looks like Nick Andre just started a new job this month, and said he was going to be pretty busy and slow to respond.

If you're in Texarkana, your Region 19 coordinator is Mark Lewis. On a BBS that's hooked up to FidoNet, send a netmail to "mark lewis@1:3634/12.73" and see if he answers. I don't have his email address, but maybe someone in here might from TX, AR, OK, or LA.

If you're in Texarkana, your Region 19 coordinator is Mark Lewis.

Actually the spelling is Marc Lewis. Note the difference. The reason it's important is that there is a Mark Lewis who is the Region 18 coordinator.
He usually spells his name in all lower case.

On a BBS that's hooked up to FidoNet, send a netmail to "mark lewis@1:3634/12.73" and see if he answers. I don't have his email

The correct address is Marc Lewis@1:396/45.

classic and common mistake... excellent try, though! you should have seen the confusion back in the day when there were more mar[ck] lewises in the nodelist... i remember at one point there was one in each of the 6 zones and several in one or two zones... it was quite fun attempting to figure out which one a netmail was intended for so it could be sent to the proper one...

so anyway, marC lewis is R19C covering texas, arkansas, oklohoma, and louisana... i'm R18C covering the southeast US and caribbean...

marC lewis can be contacted by sending netmail to one of his addresses... 1:19/0, 1:396/0, 1:396/45... those are his main ones with the last being his main system... i would write him at "marc lewis@1:19/0" if i were a new system looking for an address in his region... especially if i didn't know which net i'd be in... just be sure to use the proper spelling of "marc" or he might not see it ;)

As someone who's spent ample time in 3/4 of R19C states, that's a humble brag if I've ever seen one. :)
