  • Additional GURU creation

    I an option to add additional GURUS.....the original is in guru.dat.
    But when I create new ones it does not create new .dat file for them.

    Looks like to can edit the text in GURU.

    Wanted to play a bit and make some custom GURUS for different chat channels.

    Anybody got any tips n tricks?

    I looked at the file....I see:
    "you may have up to 500 differnt gurus....each with its own personality and intelligence.

    I have added additional gurus via SCFG and can assign them to different chats boards.

    But I cannot find how I have different personalities and intelligence....to do that I assume I would have to create seperate guru.dat files (e.g. dicky.dat) for each guru...and then assign the respective dat file to that particular guru (dicky) in SCFG.

    I could then edit dicky.dat and modify the personality and intelligence on that particular guru.

    Hope I you understand what I am trying to say.

    BTW....fantastic job on synchronet....really amazing work.

    Yes, you've described the process perfectly. Probaby best to copy the stock guru.dat (or another guru.dat, if you find one) to dicky.dat and then modify to suit your taste.

    Thanks! The Guru was one of the original featuers that I just *had* to complete before putting Synchronet first online back in 1991. I needed "someone" to answer all the newbie questions while I fixed all the bugz!
