Ok, I have an issue I can't seem to figure out. I am trying to add Ilink International to my BBS. I have everything configured to the best of my knowledge in SCFG and echcfg but I can not send outgoing mail to my hub (I am 454:1/4148 and he is 454:1/1). I have 4 other echos configured and not having any issues.
When I send a message to his areafix (areafix@454:1/1) the mesage stays in the outbound folder after callout and his system doesnt get the transfer. here is the sample from the BBS:
3/9 12:56:55p BINKPOLL Attempting callout for 454:1/1@ilink, file: c:\sbbs\fidonet\outbound.1c6\00010001.cut
3/9 12:56:55p BINKPOLL JSBinkP/1.114 callout to 454:1/1@ilink started
3/9 12:56:55p BINKPOLL connecting to 454:1/1@ilink at undefined
3/9 12:56:56p BINKPOLL Got M_ADR command args: 1:266/512.0@fidonet.org 1:13/0.0@fidonet.org 1:13/3.0@fidonet.org 1:129/0.0@fidonet.org 1:266/0.0@fidonet.org 454:1/1.0@ilink.org

The extra ".0" should be okay, but the domains have to match and "ilink" is not the same as "ilink.org".

Ok, that explains a lot but how do I get the ilink.org configured? when I try to enter it into echocfg under domains it doesn't allow enough charachters so I get ilink.or.

there's the problem... ilink.org is wrong... FTN domains are, at most, 8 characters in length with no dots... ilink and ilink.org are two different domains... 454:1/1 needs to fix their address definitions... fidonet.org is most certainly wrong, as well... FTN domains are not the same as internet domains... i'm really really surprised that that operator has their FTN domains
configured so incorrectly :?

He actually had it set up for .or
so when I got to looking at the responce from his HUB, I saw ilink.or
as his domian identifier. Settingthe domain up for ilink.or in
echocfg domain to point to binkp.net did the trick.

He actually had it set up for .or
nonono... that was the result of string truncation because it was too long... he actually has ilink.org which is wrong for FTN domains...

ugh! that definitely shouldn't work... binkp.net is only for fidonet f.n.z lookups... ilink should have their own DNS lookup if they are going to provide f.n.z conversion DNS lookups but first that operator needs to fix his FTN address definitions to contain proper FTN domains...
