• Addfiles not importing file_id.diz

From Electrosys@1:103/705 to All on Fri Mar 8 21:04:04 2019
    Hi All,

I'm doing an addfiles in my upload directory to try and upload a number of files along with their descriptions. addfiles seems to add the files just fine but it is not importing the file_id.diz file for the description. I'm running

    addfiles uploads -sz

The files are upload but no description is added for the .zip files that have file_id.diz inside of them.

I have addfiles v3.03-win32, does anyway have any ideas as to what I may be missing?

    Thanks,
    Electrosys

Archivers should be setup and working as expected. When I do a "blind upload" in the batch menu, the file is upload and the long file name is stored, the file_id.diz is imported as well.

files along with their descriptions. addfiles seems to add the files just fine but it is not importing the file_id.diz file for the description. I'm running

    addfiles uploads -sz

    try ADDFILES - /SZN

I don't want to nuke the descriptions of all my files. But maybe ill try a / (forward slash) instead of -(hyphen) for the switch and see how it works.

I'll try ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZ - There are a number of files that already exist but I want to updated the descriptions so I need to leave off the N as far as understand.

    Thanks,

I tried ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZ which uploaded the files but did not import the file_id.diz discriptions.

ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZN doesn't really do anything because there are a number of files that already exist.

I have 63 files in my upload folder existing, many of them had the file_id.diz description in place. I did a ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZN to upload one new file I ad
to the folder but the description was not imported so I tried a few different things and lost the descriptions for all the files which is ok as long as I can
figure out how to get ADDFILES to import the file_id.diz file.

ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZ will report 63 files uploaded but descriptions are not imported.

ADDFILES UPLOADS /SZN will report 0 files uploaded.

    Thanks,

addfiles should be trying to use the file extraction command configured for ZIP
files in SCFG->File Options->Extractable File Types...

You should be able to see addfiles running this command, whatever it is, to get
the DIZ file from the archive (assuming it's a ZIP file).

I have ZIP configured (asuming this is not case sensitive) this should cover ZIP and zip.

I have ZIP configured as an extractable file type as well as compressable. When
I upload the file using the 'blind uploads' the file_id.diz is imported as expetecd so everything should be configured.

Addfiles doesn't seem to be calling any command when it adds the files. Is ther
another config that I may be missing? Or was there possible a change to ADDFILES or something that may be causing this?

My problem was that I had an access level set on the extractable types, ADDFILES didn't have permissions to run it. I removed the access level and it works fine now.

For future reference. Is it possible to run ADDFILES within a partiular user context. Or run any of the other commands in a specific user context?

    None that I'm aware of.

I think just paranoia to ensure the guest account can not extract and compress zip files.
