    Hi,
I took waay longer than I should have to figure out how to do a File Request. The info on http://wiki.synchro.net/howto:freq was waaaaay too technical.
Is using the subject line documented somewhere that I have missed? If not, Ill happily add it to the wiki.

I had nothing to do with that.

    Hi

This feels like a noob question, but I'll as anyway.
Can someone please explain to me simply how one does FREW via Netmail?

I've seen the How-to, which talks about three ways and only explains the manual creation for Freq files.
I've also read this thread: http://104.248.10.38/?page=001-forum.ssjs&sub=dove-syncdisc&thread=45004

I know about making the subject "FR: filename"

What I don't know is who to address it to.

    All the best

I'm not sure the to "name" matters at all, but you could try "allfix" (e.g. allfix@<address> where <address> is the FTN address of the system that has the file you are requesting).

Nope. It ends up as email addressed to User #1

The fact that you still see "FR:" in the message subject tells me that Synchronet did not parse (and remove) that element from the subject, so it wasn't sent as a file request.

In order for that "FR:" prefix to work, the user sending the netmail message must:
    1. Either be a sysop of the BBS or have the 'F' exemption
    2. Must be using the netmail send feature of the terminal server (e.g. not SMTP)

How did you send this netmail message?
