Thank you, got the reply back properly. I did manage to get the bbslist importing also. Perhaps when you have a moment you might help/advise me sharing user, files, messages data across all of these 'instances' ?

I don't think I'd recommend that. A lot of changes have changed since v2.30 - you could migrate that data to v3.18, but there's no backwards migration or synchronization support. It might kind of / sort of work, but many things (e.g. message scan pointers, user passwords) won't be shared. There were earlier versions of v3.xx that were 100% backward compatible, but that's no longer true.

I was thinking just on the MuseumBox that houses 2.30c and below. Just for Shit's And Giggles, I decided that v3.00 is considered 'new school' so, the oldest I want in the Museum is 2.30c since it can manage the Y2K issues and v200g; v210a; v220a are accessed via Xtrn Doors. Though one would have to log onto each board again I want the user/msg bases shared. I have each ver instance looking at \sbbs\data\ for messages but the user base doesn't seem to be shareable?

The only 'real' issue I am having is that when returning from a live demo the remote keyboard is disabled for the connection so I have to intervene on the local auto spy shell. oh well, it's only a couple days old so I will figure it
    out

I *think* the userbase is shareable amoung all those old v2.x versions. A lot changed from v1 to v2, so I wouldn't attempt sharing config or data files between v1 and v2.

Yeah, I don't know your configuration so can't really help there. If you have specifics, let me know.

I am not sure how to share the user database other than in scfg>messages*> setting the path to c:\sbbs\data\ but that doesn't pick up user or user/ptrs the .bat hack is a timed event that xcopies \sbbs\data\user\*.* recursively to each 'instance' data\user\

the live demo of other vers is simply setting up each board and matching the node(s) comports the same across all versions. The door.bat takes %# as node, cd's to version.path\node%# directory and calls 'version.path\exec\sbbs xd c19200' live demo door scfg is multiuser swap ... anyway, I know you are more interested in dev updating sbbs3.18* ... I am just playing around here

No, I meant share the live data - pointing multiple instances to the same data directory by setting each's SCFG->System->Advanced Options->Data Directory to piont to the same location.
