I am having an issue where Users logged in the web or terminal are not getting updates shown when a message, telegram, new mail, or when some one logs on/off but with a menu refresh or key press it will show the notice. I have looked every where and just cant figure this one out. Any help, thanks in advance. Ranger

What command shell are you using? Most (or all?) of the default shells don't poll for and display new node alerts continuously.

The reality is sort of the reverse of your question. The prompt needs to be designed to poll for these notifications and then display them to the user.

I'm not sure if any of the default command shells do this.

That depends on the prompt. The Ctrl-P (private message) prompt does continually poll for/display messages. Most other prompts do not.
