From Mortifis@1:103/705 to All on Fri Feb 1 11:37:09 2019
I have been seeing this a lot in the Terminal Logs:

    2/1 11:28:23a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 0
    2/1 11:28:26a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 1
    2/1 11:28:29a Node 1 <Edit> Failed to activate font: 2
    2/1 11:28:32a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 3

These are legit telnet connection attempts.

    And a lot of these:
    2/1 11:28:29a 1200 SSH connection accepted from: <ip edited> port 29948
    2/1 11:28:34a 1200 SSH session establishment failed

I assume these are legit as well.

    Any ideas?

I wouldn't make that assumption. I have loads of those in my log, and I suspect they're generated by some crappy scripts connecting to my SSH server.

Ok, I get that ... what about this though?

    2/1 11:28:23a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 0
    2/1 11:28:26a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 1

    2/1 11:28:32a Node 1 <Edited> Failed to activate font: 3

This me connecting to my board via syncterm from another system.

I haven't messed around with fonts & SyncTERM. I can only guess.

Activating a font appears to be a matter of sending some escape sequences back and forth, which should work over telgate or a straight connection.

Looks like the server messes around with ctrlkey passthrough during this process. It's possible that's part of the problem if this is only happening via telgate. IIRC it does some ctrlkey handling to let the user break out of the session, and maybe that's getting in the way.

Or something's timing out, or some other aspect of telgate is preventing the font related sequences from passing cleanly.

Does it work when *you* login using SyncTERM? It's hard to say without some testing/experimentation whether the problem there is on the client or the server side.

    Probably not.
