Tuesday, 10/31/17 6 to 9 PM at the Hulen Mall food court, at 4800 South
Hulen Street, in southwest Fort Worth, TX.

We eventually had seven gamers at two tables this evening.

Table #1 - First, my Alhambra, which was new to Corey, Miranda, and Michael L. This was my 63rd game of Alhambra, but only my second outing with a full compliment of six players. With six vying for the tiles in the market the supply of tiles dwindles rather quickly. So there's little point to making any long range plans. And even medium range plans are very often thwarted. So most of the time you just grab what you can, and hope it'll help you gain a majority
    later.

When the first scoring card appeared, and we'd given everyone their points, Miranda lead with 12, and Corey brought up the rear with 3. The second scoring card's appearance and application still had Miranda in the lead with 36, and Corey remained tail end Charlie with 20. By now several players were trying to specialize in certain tile types. Yet due to it being a six player game we had,
and continued to have, many ties for first and second.

The last third of the game continued this trend. When the tiles ran out, ending
the game, Corey had the longest wall, 13 segments. While Michael L and Duane had the shortest walls; both were 6 segments long. Possession of most tile types remained tied. There was a four way tie for Pavilions! Connor had second place in four of the six types (always a bridesmaid, never a bride). Duane tied
for most Chambers and Towers. Corey tied for most Chambers, Mezzanines, and Manors. Michael L tied for most Towers and Chambers. Miranda had the most Manors and Mezzanines. And I was tops in Gardens, and tied for most Towers. In the end Miranda was quite surprised I edged her out. She had fully expected to stay in the lead until the end.

Scores: Michael W 90, Miranda 81, Connor 68, Corey 64, Michael L 59, Duane 48. Duration: 58 minutes. Wow, that was fast! I believe everyone enjoyed the game.

Next, my Ivanhoe, twice. The game was new to Michael L and Miranda.

Game #1 - At the halfway point everyone had two chips except me, who had none! I then surged forward, as the others had depleted their hands. I won 3 chips in
quick succession. But I then choked when I went for the win (a 4th chip). I then tread water, my hand exhausted, while Michael L and Miranda then dominated
    the game.

    Scores: Miranda 4, Michael L 3, Michael W 3, Connor 2. Duration: 34 minutes..

Game #2 - Now that we all knew how to play, the game went faster. I laughed when my initial hand of 8 cards were 6 while and 2 green. My 208th game, and I hadn't seen anything like that before! The end result was about like the first game. Except I was the only player that had to give up a (green) chip when my maiden spurned me for losing a tournament.

Scores: Miranda 4, Michael L 3, Connor 2, Michael W 2. Duration: 23 minutes.. Michael L liked the game. Miranda *loved* it. (I think winning both was about 50% of that.)

Table II Report - Report by Duane
Players: Corey, Duane & Trevor T
    Games: Biotix, OZ Fluxx, Loot!

Trevor came in late and as the others were playing all in one group at Table I.
When the game finished we then split into two groups. Duane & Corey introduced D’s game of Biotix to Trevor. Round one scores were Trevor = 18, Corey = 13, and D = 38. Round two scores were short as the white chit was drawn right off the bat. Round two: Trevor 5, Corey 20, D 3. As no one was 25
    pts behind we did not have a eureka round. Round 3 finished with Trevor 24, Corey 23, & D 19. Final scores: 1st - D - 60 pts; 2nd - Corey - 56 pts.; 3rd Trevor - 48 pts. Time: 28 minutes

Trevor had to go home so Corey & D played Duane’s new game OZ Fluxx.. Same as the other fluxx games - always changing rules & this game brought back creepers. We played two games… one a 7-minute game with Corey winning and the 2nd game D winning in 18 mins.

We then tried D’s never played game Loot! A game where merchant ships can get attacked by pirates. Each merchant ship is worth from 3 to 8 gold. If you
can sail without a pirate attacking you get to keep the gold… otherwise highest strength of pirate wins the craft. A pirate captain can win a battle beating all other pirate ships. There are only four captains in the game. The
game can be played from 2 to 8 players. 100 points of merchant ships are in play. Game one we were learning the rules with D winning 63 to Corey’s 37. Game took 22 minutes. Now that we both understood the game we played once more
right up to the time the place closed taking 19 minutes. Duane won again 65 to 35 with all four captains in his hand at the end eliminating any need to have the last 4 battles. <grin> Definitely a fun game to play at the end of the day with more than 2 players... looks like a good cutthroat game!!

    -end of report-
