Tuesday, 07/11/17 6 to 9 PM at the Hulen Mall food court, at 4800 South
Hulen Street, in southwest Fort Worth, TX.

Alas of the 20 folks that RSVP'd yes, only 12 showed up. And half of them were late. We had some newcomers: Rachel, Michael G, Jordan, and Garrett.

Table #1 - Jordan, Michael G, and Garrett played Dungeons & Dragons. The game has no score, per se. I was told the outcome, after about 2.5 hours was, "One player leveled up after defeating a corrupted gnoll smuggling cursed cargo"

Table #2 - Jason P’s Orleans, which was new to Duane. Zach had played it once, last year. Unfortunately they didn't quite finish. I think they made it thru about 90% of the game. Then they skipped to final scoring.

    Partial scores: Zach E 102, Jason P 74, Duane 54. Duration: about 2.5 hours..

Table #3 - First my Alhambra, which was new to Rachel. First scoring saw the point spread rather wide. With Rachel in the lead with 14 and Sonnett bringing up the rear with 1 point (which was her lone wall segment). Things tightened up
somewhat during second scoring. Now Zach lead with 50, While Sonnett trailed with 19. By this time Zach had locked down the lead in Towers and Mezzanines, and was tied for the lead in Gardens.

During the last third of the game Zach did cement the Gardens lead. Well, any player that's leading in three of the six building types is bound to win.. I had locked down the lead in Chambers and Pavilions, and tied for the lead in Manors with Connor. Rachel and Sonnet lead in nothing. My final wall was an impressive 16, while everyone else earned 8-9 points for theirs. After scoring I was surprised I'd made it to second place.

Scores: Zach S 117, Michael W 94, Connor 73, Rachel 64, Sonnett 55. Duration: 66 minutes. I think Rachel at least somewhat liked the game.

Next, Rachel’s Telestrations. Its a party game with no score. Here's part of its BGG blurb, "Each player begins by sketching a word dictated by the roll of a die. All players pass their sketch to the next player, who must guess what's been drawn. Players then simultaneously pass their guess -- which hopefully matches the original word (or does it??) -- to the next player who must try to draw the word they see -- and so on"

My opinion - This game (and I use that word loosely, as to me its more of an "activity") is about as far from my cup of tea as I can think of. I've played games that I hated more. But this one is still near the bottom. At least the two "games" of it we played only lasted 11 and 8 minutes. I think Zach S is probably correct when he said afterwards Telestrations is better if the players
are slightly inebriated. Maybe so, though I have no plans to ever find out. As
I hope to never see Telestrations again. I rated it a "2" on BGG.

Lastly, Rachel left the table and the rest of us played my Ivanhoe. Connor quickly took three of the four chips he needed to win. However he'd expended most of his cards. So the rest of us then won a chip each. The momentum then shifted to Zach, who won two more. Sonnet next won a purple chip. Then it was time for the final battle...which Zach won.

    Scores: Zach S 4, Connor 3, Sonnett 2, Michael W 1. Duration: 29 minutes.
