Tuesday, 01/15/19 6 to 9:05 PM at the Hulen Mall food court, at 4800 South Hulen Street, in southwest Fort Worth, TX.

We had ten gamers at three tables this cool evening.

Table #1 - First, my Palazzo, which was new to Jessica R. That seemed to be no impediment, as she wiped the floor with Duane and me. At game end Jessica had two very good buildings and one so-so one. Duane had one very good building, a good one, and a fair one. While I ended with one very nice building, one good one, and the third was worth zero, as it only had two stories..

Scores: Jessica R 55, Duane 45, Michael W 39. Duration: 50 minutes. Jessica enjoyed the game.

Next, my San Juan, which was also new to Jessica. I admit I had some lucky card
draws this game. When I plopped down a Library, then a Guild Hall mid-game Duane groaned. We'd been neck and neck until then. And he knew that would give my score quite a boost at game end. He desperately needed the only other Guild Hall in the Deck. But Jessica drew and played it. Her Chapel only yielded 2 bonus points at game end. I cemented my lead near the end via a Palace. Duane triggered the end game with his 12th building.

Scores: Michael W 35, Jessica R 25, Duane 19. Duration: 49 minutes. Jessica liked the game, in spite of it being a little more complicated that what she was used to.

Lastly, Duane’s Incan Gold. I played the scardy cat most rounds. It served me
well the first four rounds, as my opponents were thwarted by fire/mummies/spiders, etc. after I'd skedaddle out of the temple. Ah, but when I cut and run the fifth round, Jessica kept pressing her luck and ended up surging past me, via her intestinal fortitude. She exited with a huge amount of
loot (including two treasures) on that last turn to win easily.

Scores: Jessica R 61, Michael W 44, Duane 41. Duration: 20 minutes. Jessica liked the game.

Table #2 - Jason P’s The Ancient World. Here's part of its blurb from BGG, "Players compete to grow the largest and most influential city-state by managing citizens, treasury, and military and by defeating titans. Players take
turns sending citizens to take special actions or using military cards to attack titans. One of the actions a citizen can perform is to build Empire cards, which give more citizens, money, and abilities. After six rounds, the player with the most VPs from sets of tribe banners wins."

Scores: Jason P 21 (won tie breaker - most coins), Rachel 21, Matthew P 21. Duration: about 2.5 hours.

    Table #3 - Harry H’s Scythe, which was new to the rest. Scores: Owen 29, Harry H 28, Michael L 25, Taylor G 24.
