    i'm bringing this here from IRC since we seem to be having netsplit problems and this will be easier to follow in here...

    on Dec 31 2018, i updated my SBL entry locally... this updated entry changed all my listed domains from southeaststar.dynip.com to sestar.synchro.net... i manually triggered the SBL2SMB event so my system exported the newly updated entry and sent it to vert...

    Re: updating my domain in sbbsimsg.lst
    By: mark lewis to Digital Man on Thu Jan 24 2019 12:35 pm

    i'm bringing this here from IRC since we seem to be having netsplit
    problems
    and this will be easier to follow in here...

    on Dec 31 2018, i updated my SBL entry locally... this updated entry
    changed
    all my listed domains from southeaststar.dynip.com to sestar.synchro.net... i manually triggered the SBL2SMB event so my system exported the newly updated entry and sent it to vert...

    And i see that update-post in the SYNCDATA echo here on Vert: ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄúúúú
    ³ Subj: The SouthEast Star
    ³ To : SBL
    ³ From: wkitty42 (SESTAR)
    ³ Date: Mon Dec 31 2018 07:31 pm EST (24.0 days ago) ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄúúúúúú

    The problem is that the "The SouthEast Star" sbbslist entry here on Vertrauen was created (and thus could only be updated) by "waldo kitty":

    "entry": {
    "created": {
    "on": "2018-10-16T17:18:45.109Z",
    "by": "waldo kitty",
    "at": "SESTAR"
    },
    "updated": {
    "on": "2018-10-16T17:18:45.116Z",
    "by": "waldo kitty",
    "at": "SESTAR"
    },

    So I've just deleted the entry here on Vertrauen and your next update will create a new BBS entry.

    Unfortunately, there's no way to remotely *delete* a BBS entry, so your old entry will remain in all the sbbslist databases of systems that imported it. I intend to add an expiration/auto-removal feature to sbbslist.js (like SBL had),
    but I haven't done so yet. A remote removal feature apparently is also needed in cases where the sysop is changing their "operator name" but not their "BBS name" in SCFG.

    excellent... i was starting to worry that they didn't get processed for some reason...

    The problem is that the "The SouthEast Star" sbbslist entry here on Vertrauen was created (and thus could only be updated) by "waldo kitty":

    aww, crap... looks like left overs from my earlier messing around a few weeks back?? the user has real name "waldo kitty" and alias "wkitty42"... the new json has "wkitty42" in it and i'm not changing the names any more...

    So I've just deleted the entry here on Vertrauen and your next update
    will
    create a new BBS entry.

    thank you :)

    i saw the cvs notices about this... it may be a handy feature... not sure how many times one might change their sysop name though...
