• Thoughts on Mail Forwarding

From Dream Master@1:103/705 to All on Wed Jan 6 00:12:03 2021
I've been working on my site and decided to remove the mail forwarding to my personal e-mail address (Option D, Option M). Following a logoff, I am prompted for an e-mail address and then asked again if I'd like to forward my mail. My thought is that if I choose to disable mail forwarding in my profile, and don't feel like putting in an e-mail address, I shouldn't be prompted again for an e-mail when logging back on.

    Thoughts?

The email address is for contacting the user or password recovery, not just forwarding.

And if you don't want users to have to enter their email or netmail address, set SCFG->System->New User Values->Question Toggles->E-mail/NetMail Address to "No".

The email address is for contacting the user or password recovery, not just forwarding.

And if you don't want users to have to enter their email or netmail
    address,
set SCFG->System->New User Values->Question Toggles->E-mail/NetMail Address to "No".

That part was understood, I just found it odd that if the setting was changed in the Default User Configuration (Option D), the inquiry upon logging back on was questionable. The logic of password recovery makes perfect sense.

Next time I have a thought before bed, I'll just go to bed. ;)
