Hello All,

When I log in I am seeing a message that there is an upcoming event on Monday Nov 7 at 5:00 AM and my time has been reduced.

I do have a forced MSGMAINT event that runs Sunday morning at 5:00 AM and that event did run successfully at 5:00 AM this morning.

Seems like something is not reading the time correctly. Is anyone else seeing that?

It was a memory-resident issue, so not something that would hang-around. It's possible you're hitting some different issue.

It's not a big issue at all but I wonder if the event closed the BBS to users before running.

Let me know if it happens again?

I had that issue last week and couldn't seem to figure out what was going on so I changed the day the event ran on from Sunday to Wednesday. I thought I had screwed something up in my configuration.

I just logged in and I see that message again although the event did run this morning it is saying the event will run tomorrow at 5:00 AM.

I usually see that message before the event runs and then it goes away.

Okay, seems harmless. If I can reproduce, I can fix it, but so far I haven't seen that problem here.

If I can reproduce, I can fix it, but so far I haven't seen that problem here.

It seems to think there is another event coming up at 5:00 Monday morning but that is not so. I just have one forced event here, that runs Sun morning at 5:00 AM.

The event runs Sun 5am, but on Sunday afternoon I see the message as well.

I reported it to you a little while ago, and your comment (IIRC) then was it was a 20yo bug. But I dont recall seeing a commit that addressed it - and I havent updated recently...

Yeah, think it's this line in data.cpp:
if(tm.tm_mday==last_tm.tm_mday && tm.tm_mon==last_tm.tm_mon)
thisevent+=24L*60L*60L; /* already ran today, so add 24hrs */

A naive solution would be to just ignore the event (it already ran today), but that doesn't help us for an event that runs *every* day, say at midnight (so it's going to run technically tomorrow, but that might be coming up soon). I'll add this to the todo list.

I researched that issue and it does appear to be a long-standing issue and unresolved as well. I'll add it to the todo list.

I have an ancient sbbs v2.00g that when you log in it says 'your time is reduced to 1 minute next event Jan 01, 1970 at 5am' or something like that
