    Title: Zesty Orange Beef
    Categories: Beef, Mushrooms, Vegetables, Chilies, Herbs
    Yield: 5 servings

    1 1/2 lb Top sirloin steak; in 1/4"
    - strips
    2 1/2 c Sliced fresh shiitake
    - mushrooms
    1 md Onion; in wedges
    3 Dried hot chilies
    1/4 c (packed) brown sugar
    1/4 c Orange juice
    1/4 c Soy sauce
    3 tb Cider vinegar
    1 tb Cornstarch
    1 tb Minced fresh gingerroot
    1 tb Sesame oil
    2 cl Garlic; minced
    1 3/4 c Fresh snow peas
    1 tb Grated orange zest
    Hot cooked rice

    Place beef in a 4 qt. slow cooker. Add the mushrooms,
    onion and chiles. In a small bowl, combine the brown
    sugar, orange juice, soy sauce, vinegar, cornstarch,
    ginger, oil and garlic. Pour over meat.

    Cover and cook on high for 5-6 hours or until meat is
    tender, adding snow peas during the last 30 minutes of
    cooking. Stir in orange zest. Serve with rice.

    Title: Slow-Cooked Chunky Chilli
    Categories: Beef, Pork, Beans, Vegetables, Chilies
    Yield: 12 servings

    1 lb Ground beef
    1 lb Bulk pork sausage
    64 oz (4 cans) kidney beans;
    - rinsed, drained
    43 1/2 oz (3 cans) diced tomatoes
    - w/green chilies; undrained
    1 lg Onion; chopped
    1 md Bell pepper; chopped
    1 oz Env taco seasoning
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/4 ts Pepper
    Shredded cheddar cheese;
    - opt
    Chopped red onion; opt
    Sour cream; optional

    In a large skillet, cook beef and sausage over medium
    heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Transfer to a
    5-qt. slow cooker. Stir in the remaining ingredients.

    Cover and cook on high for 4-5 hours or until vegetables
    are tender. If desired, serve with shredded cheese,
    chopped onion and sour cream.
