I don't blame the guy for backing down (seems like he did.) How can truckers keep their jobs if they refuse to make deliveries to a certain city?

Or if they're supposed to be out making deliveries - but instead they are parked along the US-Mexico border instead? They'll get fired. We don't want that.

In today Chuck Schumer does not want to hold a Senate Trial for

Does that mean that everyone, including Schumer, knows that Mayorkas is guilty and they don't need to have a trial?

I was listening to someone earlier this week who thought Mayorkas should not have been impeached... But rather it should have been Joe Biden because its his policies that Mayorkas is implementing... Nice logic... but at the end of WWII they held trials and hung people who were guards at concentration camps... you couldn't just say "I was doing what I was told"...

Though this is a delay tactic for sure... They don't want to make public what is going on for those people that are asleep... With a trial out comes the facts...

But great news!!!! When Trump gets reelected in November.... The Senate Republicans can ignore the first 3 or 4 impeachments of Trump!!!

Trump will have to put up a bond for the amount of the judgement, or just pay it in cash if he chooses.

Failing that his properties or other assets will likely be sold to cover these costs.

The Donald has said he has close to that on hand, so I don't think he'll have a propblem putting up the bond, unless he was lying.

    Insurrection.

Good luck getting that to stick. Maybe you and some friends might want

Right. It's not that I want to charge her with a crime, I just want her behind bars because she's hurting my candidate's chances of winning.

NYC is, maybe was, the financial capital of the world but if they are going to choose a political justice system over the rule of law... Money and companies will move their assets.

Liberals need to be held to account with their policies... BTW... Sylvester Stallone is moving from California to Florida... This is a trend... Who cares when the working class does this.... BUT when Billionaires and Millionaires do this what all that tax revenue goes away....

    HAHAHAHA...

California's state income tax = 12.3% ... Whereas Florida's state income tax = 0% ... and you don't need the poop map to navigate the streets so that you don't step in any human poop.

Democrats are voting to dissolve police departments?

It was allegedly "proposed by a resident" but I know that's a lie because the things that residents propose never see the light of day.

But because some "unconcerned resident" voiced their opinion, the Democrat city council is considering holding a referendum vote on the matter.

I'm a resident. I told them to tighten security at the schools. But we didn't see that on the news, and there will be no referendum for my suggestion.

The border deaths are up 900% since Biden took office. Border rapes are through the roof also.

Biden is not responsible for these deaths or rapes.

If I had a dollar for every murder and every rape that Biden is responsible for, I'd be experiencing economic growth.

America (that includes you) is experiencing good economic times.

You are right. Biden is not legally responsible for these deaths or rapes. He's responsible for them in a moral way, which is not prosecutable in the flesh, but he'll pay for it with his soul instead.

Imagine if Trump were to make an executive order that said "Tesla is not allowed to make robots that can rape people," and then Biden comes along and erases that order, and orders that Tesla can make as many rape robots as they want. Well, it's not Biden's fault, because he's just doing what's best for the robots' sexual well-being, and he's not forcing the robots to rape.

As it should be - let the people decide.

This year we have a record-high number of Democrats in the city

    Correlation is not causation.

The reality is that communities often look at consolidating services

I forgot to reply to this part of your message:

Since approximately 2020, aka the year of the real insurrection, leftists coined the term "woke" and have tricked conservatives into using the term in reference to liberal policies and ideas.

Some "conservatives" walked right into it; they heard the term used that way in the media, and they say it like it's a word they've known all their lives.

In reality, it's bad for conservatives to use the word because the real "woke" population right now are the former leftists who are "waking up" about the
    dangerous reality of Democrat policy.

The Police Choice act was drafted by a Binghamton resident, John Solak - not a democratic politician. The intention was to "outsource" policing duties to the NY state police and Broome county sherriff's office.

Nate Hotchkiss, a democratic councilman, said there would not be a vote.

Truth notwithstanding, you make a pretty good point.

The reality is that communities often look at consolidating services when it makes sense, especially with smaller communities. Binghamton is a town of 47,000 people.

Around here, the State Police are often "the law" in rural areas. A town of 47k would usually have their own force, but they may cover the whole county rather than just that city.

Sounds like something different than the "defund" movements.

    It predates 2020.

It was originally a term coined by "progressives" as a way to say "stay alert" to issues that affect marginalized and/or their own communities. "Conservatives" have used it, in turn, to point out persons who seem "over sensitive" and who seem over-consumed with things like identity politics to the point where they view *everything* in such terms.

An example would be "The main reason that Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election is sexism," an idea framed in identity politics that was circulated by some "woke" pundits after her election loss. The real main reason is that she campaigned to her supporters only and failed to build support among the independents and undecided voters.

Trump repeated this same mistake during his 2020 campaign with messages that were targeted towards his existing base.

There have been some consolidations of fire dep0arments going on here because the volunteer departments can no longer find volunteers. Being a volunteer firefighter apparently does not appeal as much to the current generations as it used to. As a result, the smaller volunteer departments are either consolidating into one, or the areas they covered are being turned over to nearby professional departments -- who may or may not have the personnel resources to be stretched to those areas.

Woke was a term that progressives and those on the left used to use to define themselves but has also become a term used by the center and conservatives to define those (still on the left) who try to define everything in terms of progressive ideas, such as identity politics.

An example I gave to Aaron was the expressed opinion by some left pundits that "Hillary lost the 2016 election because she is a woman," an opinion based in identity politics, when the reality is that she spent too much time campaigning and messaging to the areas she was likely to win and not spending enough effort to reach those that were undecided/independent.

As the former president was never a progressive or leftist, the term "woke" wouldn't apply, although I am sure there are other terms that would cover mental illness, loss of touch with reality, and believing falsehoods that would apply. I have been using Ultra-MAGA, or UMAGA, but there could be other, better terms.
