"Manufactured consent" is the term. The Propaganda Ministry brodcasts that everyone is for it, when no one is, and our so-called "representatives" move forward as though it's what we want.

The few times that Trump has mixed up words barely registers in
comparison to the sloppy and growing more incoherent - intelligible
words of Joe Biden. I called Biden a train wreck, since day 1 someone said give him chance. Well he is almost out of chances.

an accurate system for reps to measure the needs of the people they represent.
There should be a communication system in place that takes complaints
and suggestions and organizes the data for all to see, but especially
for the reps to see. I think Telegard or even Forum would suffice :)

No. I remember a long time ago in my apartment building, the old guy across the hall came out with a stack of letters for the outgoing mail. He told me that he's retired and has the time, so he constantly writes
to his congress-critters - at all levels of gov't.
If 99% of the communication that the "reps" get is from those who don't work, no wonder why they have such a skewed picture of what their constituents want (for those "reps" who care about their constituents,
