That was a wasted seven minutes listening to a partially incoherent guy rambling on about a eleven second video showing a guy with a shotgun
going out from some place. The "good guy with a gun" may well have been
only in the narrator's mind because he certainly was not shown in the

HAHAHA.... I forgot I posted that... I love Salty Cracker's take on the situation... You don't have to like his view... But seeing a evil person wanting to shoot up a bunch of unarmed people be rightfully shot buy a legal gun owner is good.

BTW, a day after that happened someone tried to start some BS with a couple, wife visibly pregnant... Both husband and pregnant wife open fire on the man who was perpetrating a crime... Mowed down the criminal with a barrage of gunfire... The getaway car took off and left their cohort behind to die.

I downloaded a meme recently to share... I said... back when Hitler was coming to power he de-funded the police in Germany. He did this so that he could reek havoc with his brown shirt crew... this is analogous to ANTIFA today. The way the criminals think today, and how they are treated in some jurisdictions, it's crazy. I know more people who have and carry guns for self defense than I know people who don't carry..

This is not true... Blacks and other minorities use stand your ground more than any other group, in Florida anyway...

Rules with carrying a gun for self defense are simple... 1) DO NOT START a fight. You can't be the cause of an altercation... then you pull out a gun and use it.... Actually that's about it...

I have a carry permit in Florida, they have reciprocity with ~35 other states... there are some states that have restrictions.... But I can carry like I do in the state of Florida in all 35 of those states. I avoid, if I can, any state with restrictive gun laws. If I'm driving down from Canada and the GPS puts me through Illinois I find and alternative way around the state. I have a handgun that is legal in both Canada and the US... Once I get over the boarder I strap it on...

There was a so called case of "Stand Your Ground" in Ocala Florida recently. It seems like there was a long-standing dispute between two neighbors. The police had been called out several times over the past year.

On the day in question the one lady was made at the neighbor's kids playing ball and that ball ending up on her lawn... I'm not that clear on exactly what they kids did to set her off... but they did and she scolded them and they told their mother... Mother went over to talk to the lady... Knocked on her door and the lady shot once through the door killing the mother...

Tragic... police called and woman claims Stand Your Ground... The lady was not arrested right then.... I learned from the Sheriff that that is Florida law... If someone claims Stand You Ground law enforcement has to prove it wasn't before they charge them with a crime... interesting...

That process took about a week. Interviewing the kids, looking at the RING doorbell video, that coupled with the fact that she was the instigator of the commotion... They charged the lady with murder... as she should have been. It took a few days to do that. They have to have the evidence to prove their case in a court of law...

Because the lady who shot through the door was white and the lady knocking on the door was black... There was a few race-bating organizations down there protesting... But the cops did their job in the background and did the right thing.

Stand your ground isn't magical or mysterious. Stand your ground simply means that... I can stand my ground, I do not have to find a way to leave... I can stand and confront the treat. It also means I can challenge that threat with not just equal force but I can use greater or even deadly force... If he comes at me with a hammer... I can come at him with more than a hammer.... I would use my hammer-fire 9MM gun. Ohhhhhh an other rule... DO NOT empty your magazine into the threat... 3 or 4... check to see if they are still a threat... and repeat if necessary.

There is one subjective aspect to this law... and it is... The person claiming stand your ground has to "feel" a threat... NOW... some woman who is 5'2" and 105 lbs may see a threat differently that a man 6'4" and 255 lbs. Both can react in the exact same way...

If I was a perpetrator in Florida I would think twice... because you could loose your life while you are out their practicing your trade.

If you carry a gun to protect yourself.... Be smart...

BTW, as a side note. There was a case if Texas, some Taco place, someone came in... it was later found out that he had a toy gun... He was using it anyway to rob the place... someone in the place had a gun... and shot the robber repeatedly. The guy who shot the robber then looked at the robbers gun... noted it was a toy... then went to the robber, who might have been dead by now, and pumped a few more into him.

This guy is now facing charges.... There may have been no real good reason to shoot a guy 7-10 times, at some point the threat stopped being a threat... but going over and pumping 2 more into a person who is clearly not a threat... and then going home after he gave everyone their money back.

This man will more than likely be found guilty... even in the state of Texas... He took a perfect case of stand your ground and was a little excessive.

If you want to be a robber just go the NY or California... Chicago and you can do whatever it is you want to do without impunity...

    Just saying...

That law has led to some unjustified killings.

This is not true... Blacks and other minorities use stand
your ground more than any other group, in Florida anyway...

I recall some cases that fit my use of unjustified. In one, a young male (black, possibly 14 or less) got lost and rang the wrong doorbell. The occupant of the house (white, 80+) shot and killed him through the door, claiming stand your ground. A second case was a woman pulled into the
wrong drive way and was shot. I don't believe she even got out of her
car. Then there were two other white against black case that made the
news some time ago. First one was where three men chased down a jogger
in their pickup truck and shot him to death. Second was a Hispanic male
who stopped and interrogated a young black, got into a scuffle and pulled
out a gun and killed him.
I do not know of any statistics on how often that law has been used, but
two or four unjustified killings are too many.

Rules with carrying a gun for self defense are simple... 1)
DO NOT START a fight. You can't be the cause of an
altercation... then you pull out a gun and use it....
    Actually that's about it...

In each of the four cases I mentioned, the person did not start any
fight. In the first two, there was no contact before they were shot.
In the other two, the black males did not start any altercation but were
still the victims who were shot dead.

I know you can search and find the case where someone shouldn't have did something...

If I recall correctly, and I think I do, all the people you talked about are in jail or are facing prison time. Once you use your gun in a criminal fashion you are no different then the criminals you fear.

I Goggled self defense shooting... first article that came up...was one a guy used on a youtube video I saw... a week ago or so...

    https://www.thetrace.org/2022/06/defensive-gun-use-data-good-guys-with-guns/

In this there is a graphic shown about 1/4 way down... in 2018 there were 484,800 victims of gun violence whereas there were 70,040 defensive gun uses.

    2023 stats
    https://americangunfacts.com/guns-used-in-self-defense-stats/

How Many Times Are Guns Used in Self Defense Each Year?

The best estimates are that guns are used to deter or thwart crime between 500,000 and 2.8 million times per year, but the more likely answer is probably somewhere in the middle. A 2021 survey2 estimated that guns are used 1.67 million times per year in self defense in the United States.

1.67 million times a year!!!! and you might be able to find a handful of cases where a law abiding gun owner becomes a criminal and goes to jail after he becomes a criminal.

The second you use a gun to rob a bank or kill someone in a manner that is not legal you are a criminal... period... and you go directly to jail.

I find what you say hard to believe.... Can you show me some evidence these people where educated in someway .... Maybe there's an interview somewhere that the person says.... Government told me I can shoot first an ask questions later.

BTW, good people don't become criminals. Ignorance of the law doesn't excuse you. There is a high level of responsibility if you choose to carry or use a weapon at home for self defense.

BTW again, I know Florida's Stand Your Ground.... ands nowhere in there does it say that you can shoot people turning around in the driveway... or does it say you can shoot someone that is just knocking on your door....

There is a statistic out there, I have heard it quoted a few times... Paraphrase... That legal law abiding gun owners are less likely to commit a crime than a police officer would be....

Interesting.... He's why I believe it... and that is... Anyone who carries on a daily basis avoids breaking the law because they don't want to loose their right to carry. Made sense to me when I heard it...

BTW again again... I have a restricted gun permit in Canada, that means I can own a handgun in Canada... I have a carry permit for the state of Florida... this permit is recognized in ~ 35 other states. The mandatory training I received in Canada was 1000 times better than the training I received in Florida... I was hoping that my Florida training would be better than it was... it wasn't... but I have put in countless hours educating myself on this topic and that's what everyone should do... It's on you and not the public.

BTW for the last time.... I have a gun that is legal in both Canada and the US... That is the gun I travel with when I'm going to and from either country. There are some laws I have to follow while I'm in Canada but once I'm on the US side of the boarder I can strap my gun on and wear it all the way to Florida...

I don't think that the two people I mentioned were inclined to become criminals. They were maybe good people, but reacted in a bad way and
    thus became a criminal.

BTW again, I know Florida's Stand Your Ground.... ands
nowhere in there does it say that you can shoot people
turning around in the driveway... or does it say you can
shoot someone that is just knocking on your door....

I hope your knowledge is better than theirs, and expect that it is.

There is a statistic out there, I have heard it quoted a
few times... Paraphrase... That legal law abiding gun
owners are less likely to commit a crime than a police
    officer would be....

I could believe that, at least for the majority. It is the unstable who
are the ones who are committing most of the mass shootings. Most of them
are white males under 25 years old.

Interesting.... He's why I believe it... and that is... Anyone who
carries on a daily basis avoids breaking the law because they don't
want to loose their right to carry. Made sense to me when
    I heard it...

I would hope that you are not in the minority with that philosophy.

BTW again again... I have a restricted gun permit in Canada, that
means I can own a handgun in Canada... I have a carry permit for
the state of Florida... this permit is recognized in ~ 35
other states. The mandatory training I received in Canada
was 1000 times better than the training I received in
Florida... I was hoping that my Florida training would be
better than it was... it wasn't... but I have put in
countless hours educating myself on this topic and that's
what everyone should do... It's on you and not the public.

Does Florida even require any training these days? I think I read that
anyone can open carry without any permit. Is that true?

Does not have to be Government told me. It could be media, friends,
etc. People get educated simply by hearing the same thing said over and over again -- whether or not it is accurate.

If you carry a gun for self-defence and you rely on your friends and your spidie-senses to dictate what the law says... Then you need to go to jail if you act stupidly. Most people I know understand the law and train all the time...

I think people who don't know what they are talking about use the media, friends, etc. To form baseless opinions whether they are accurate or not.

I could believe that, at least for the majority. It is the unstable who are the ones who are committing most of the mass shootings. Most of them are white males under 25 years old.

7 of the last 6 shootings have been Trans-gender, one was non-binary... The one in Philly, past couple days, Black male, Trans-gender and a BLM supporter. Crazy idiots everywhere... and just because these people are crazy enough to shoot up the locals is on them, and not the law abiding citizens.... BTW, if there were more people armed, honest and good ones, the guy in Philly would have be stopped like the guy in Vegas was...

Does Florida even require any training these days? I think I read that anyone can open carry without any permit. Is that true?

Not now... recently they became constitutional carry. Other states that are constitutional carry are usually Open Carry as well. Constitutional carry means this.... If you would be able to buy and carry a gun, meaning that there is no law that would prevent you from doing this.... Then you can conceal carry, it can not be carried out in the open... In Florida there are 2 reasons you can open carry... but the government wants it concealed.

There are ~ 25 states that are constitutional carry... Most want you to open carry if you use that option. Florida decided not to have open carry with their new law because it might freak out the Tourists if they see Billy Bob @ 711 and he looks like John Wayne...

I will personally keep my Conceal Carry Permit because of the fact that I have access to ~35 other states that honor my permit. I avoid, if I can, any state that is not 2A friendly.

Lastly, if you are in a constitutional carry state and you have a gun and you shouldn't have one... it's on you and you'll go to jail... If you pull out your gun to use it... It's on you to know the laws and use your gun legally and correctly.

In Florida, as of today, everybody has a "right to carry" - whether
it is concealed, or not. And no need to get a permit. Just pack all
the guns you want. Whatever kind you want. As many as you want. And
then open fire on whoever you want. As often as you want. Whenever
you want. That'll be sure to put an end to all them criminals in the
state of Florida, and also teach the rest of the country what to do!

    [..]

Does Florida even require any training these days? I think I read that anyone can open carry without any permit. Is that true?

    As of yesterday, no.
    As of today, yes.
Just grab your gun (or handgun).
And pack it away, out of sight.
And when you feel like it, blow the MF away!

You sound like one of the people you who get their Stand Your Ground knowledge from the media and coffee shoppes. I own a hunting rifle, I've owned this gun for ~25 years or more...

    https://www.browning.com/products/firearms/rifles/bar/bar-mk3-stalker.html

Functionally it is the same as an AR15... in that both are semi-automatic... things start to drift apart there... Someone not in their right mind 300 Win Mag for anything other than its intended purpose... Hunting large game. I would not want to use this as a self-defence weapon. This gun and the ammunition it takes are for hunting moose, 1000 pound moose... Though it functions no differently than an AR15... and it looks more like a traditional riffle ... it is the same... Semi-automatic rifle...

Here is a picture of a rifle that is chambered in the same round as an AR15. It is also a Semi-automatic so it'll function the same as an AR.... Interesting.... functions the same as an AR but would be considered not a weapon of war...

    https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/80779

Guns have a purpose, they are a tool.... I own an AR15 mainly because a democrat told me I shouldn't have one... For home defense I prefer to use an AR9... No an AR9 is NOT 6 ARs safer than an AR15... but rather it's chambered in 9mm... same as my hand gun. AR9 rifle is more accurate and easier to use than a handgun... If I were to get an AR for hunting I would buy an AR10... these are chambered in 308 round and it could put down a deer or moose. I can get a 300 Win Mag that "looks" like an AR but it's not... They cost ~$6500 and I'm too cheap to get one.

So why ARs... They look cool... There are things I can add to an AR that I can't easily do to a more traditional gun... AR have rails that you can attach flashlights and other useful things like that. They are easily configured to your own specifications... Some people want a certain trigger and barrel length... Whatever..

FYI, the people that trained me for my Conceal Carry permit they had a come build your AR class on the weekends. You buy all the parts needed and they'll help you put it together.... Cool...

Why an AR9 is a good self-defense gun in my house.... I can use it... and with the touch of a button my 90 lb daughter can move the butt of the rifle to accommodate her size.

I saw a video a few weeks back that some guy took a traditional looking semi-automatic hunting rifle and shot 30 rounds through it in a repeated manner to show people that it doesn't have to be an AR15.... Well I couldn't find that one... I found this one though and it does a reasonable attempt to argue a pro gun point of view.

Kyle was legal to Open Carry the gun he had if he was 16 years and older... Doesn't matter if he lived in an other state... I think it's a 5 minute drive to go from his mom's house to Kenosha Wisconsin... Kenosha is where Kyle spent his day working and spending time with his friends. And yes you can go between states with a gun... I go between countries with one.

Back to Open Carry... I'd rather people not know I'm carrying... If shit got real... and the perpetrator know I had a gun... He'd shoot me first!!!

In a previous message, you mentioned suicidal. Many claim that trying to
fix the mental health problem that leads to these shootings is "too
difficult" or not really the problem. My problem with that is that not
all, but a lot, of these young men have been on the radar of local or
federal law enforcement before they went on their suicidal sprees.

So I don't really understand how law enforcement can know these people have
a mental issue that may include murderous tendencies and yet nothing is said
or done until it is too late. I don't understand what is "too difficult"
    about that.

To tell you the truth Kyle Rittenhouse was within his rights... the prosecutor took him to trial and he was acquitted on all charges... and it was even shown that the prosecutor tampered with evidence as well... Kyle shot at 3 people who were trying to kill him... This was born out in trial... he killed 2 and wounded the 3rd.

I'm about to head out to a movie... I don't have a lot of time... a few days back I sent out messages here in this echo.... I will paraphrase the stats... because I don't have the time to go back a few days of my mail....

There is a stat that says there are hundreds hundreds of mass shootings each year... Hundreds and hundreds... with thousands and thousands of victims...

Where the get this number from.... the include all shootings where there are more than4 people involved. This covers all the shootings in the south side of Chicago... If someone was being shot at and there were 10 people standing around at the corner store... they include those 10 people.... If this shooting happened at 3 in the morning and it was close to a school... it was drug related and had nothing to do with the school...they'll call it a school shooting... All of the BS shootings in the US... they include everyone in the area as a victim... BTW, they never reverse the math and include everyone in the area when a good guy saves people when he shoots a bad guy..

Here's my point... If you go with the above method of mass shooting... They use hand guns...

There is a stat that is out... Where they look at mass shooting... like they should... Someone walks into a school, mall or church with the intent to kill as many people as they can...

Those people use AR style rifles... and there has only been ~150 of those in the past40 or 50 years...

Taking guns away from law abiding citizens won't fix this... They drive cars down sidewalks and kill people out enjoying a Christmas parade... They'll fly planes into buildings.... They'll even make bombs and blow them up during marathons...

I have to go to the movie.... I have a solution about large capacity magazines and whatnot... I have though this out...

    Hello Joe,

Move to Florida. No need for a permit to carry concealed weapons.
Just pack as many as you want, hide them from sight. and shoot on
    sight. No experience necessary.

There are 27 States that are constitutional carry. AND you can't shoot on sight...

We are talking about Florida. Where it is legal for anybody who is
age 18 or over to pack a gun and shoot whoever the hell they want -
even if they are fucking blind as a bat. No need for any permit.
No need to display or flash your gun around. Just point and shoot.

The 2nd amendment says... Shall not be infringed...

Are those mass murderers part of "A well regulated Militia"?
Didn't think so. But the state of Florida says it is okay to
grab a gun, hide it from sight, and kill as many folks as
you want. Even school children attending class. Isn't that
cool? Those AR15's really do come in handy when confronting
    those vicious school kids ...

It's funny... I have never heard you talk about criminals in the same way as
you do about law abiding citizens....

Oh, come now. Those mass murderers are not mass murderers until
they pull the trigger. Everybody knows that. So please. Let's
not call folks who legally buy those weapons of mass destruction
criminals. At least not until after they pull the trigger.

If a criminal pulls out a gun...

Almost all of those mass murderers buy those AR15s legally.
Most of them at gun shows, where no background check is required.

    You don't say...

    Like Justin Wilson, I guarantee.

did you get a background check??

    Not at gun shows.

    Do you have a permit??

    Hello Dale,

<<SNIP>> Thanks for the discussion. You sound like a responsible gun owner.

A responsible gun owner would not have such weapons around in the
    first place.

That's it... Do you recall Kyle Rittenhouse?? The young 18 year old
who used an AR to defend himself... Shot 3 people, killing 2...
Wisconsin is an Open Carry state.

My problem is how do we cut down on those like Kyle, and others who are even worse, from obtaining and mis-using guns -- usually AR15s.

Ban the sale of such weapons. Problem solved.

Most mass killings are from white men, aged 18 to 25, who decide to go out in a blaze of glory using an AR15 with a large magazine. Can anything be done about this or do we just have to live (or die) with it?

Ban the sale of such weapons, as other countries have done, and
    the problem will resolve itself.

    For Life,
    Lee

    Hello Dale,

I hope your knowledge is better than theirs, and expect that it is.

Point and shoot. That is all you need to know.

Far from it. One needs to know how and when to use that deadly weapon. That takes training.

    Not really.

Mass murders committed by people armed with AR15-style weapons
are quite common these days. How much training did they get before
    or after purchasing such weapons?

So I don't really understand how law enforcement can know these people have a mental issue that may include murderous tendencies and yet
nothing is said or done until it is too late. I don't understand what
    is "too difficult" about that.

My guess might be that for 100 people registering such tendencies, only
one actually acts out on them. If true, then the difficulty is reducing
the 99 false positives down to only a few. That and a basic lack of
resources to handle the problem by looking at the problem from that

There is a stat that says there are hundreds hundreds of
mass shootings each year... Hundreds and hundreds... with
    thousands and thousands of victims...

Such a statistic is misleading -- probably on purpose. The accepted
number is more like 1000 per year, i.e. 3-4 per day.

Where the get this number from.... the include all shootings where
there are more than4 people involved. This covers all the shootings

The accepted statistic is not with 4 or more people involved -- it is
with 4 or more people killed or wounded (right now I am not certain on
    the exact definition).

in the south side of Chicago... If someone was being shot
at and there were 10 people standing around at the corner
store... they include those 10 people.... If this shooting
happened at 3 in the morning and it was close to a
school... it was drug related and had nothing to do with
the school...they'll call it a school shooting... All of

Again, wrong and just misinformation aimed at stirring up people.

Here's my point... If you go with the above method of mass
    shooting... They use hand guns...

I would not go with that definition.

There is a stat that is out... Where they look at mass
shooting... like they should... Someone walks into a
school, mall or church with the intent to kill as many
    people as they can...

That is pretty much my definition.

Those people use AR style rifles... and there has only been
~150 of those in the past40 or 50 years...

I think that your number there is wrong -- more like many hundreds per
    year.

Actually you can carry a gun at Walmart... In Florida anyway... There are a handful of places I can't take my gun... Schools, federal buildings... such as a post office... Hospitals that have a mental facility attached to it... I can go to a restaurant, but not a bar... When I go to out to eat I ask not to be seated in the bar area... I can take my gun, concealed, into an Airport... not in part part of the airport where you've been screened... the clean area... but the part where you would greet someone and go pick their luggage up....

In Florida I can go into Walmart with my gun. Even if there is a sign on the doors that says No Guns Allowed... NOW, if I'm in the store and the manager asked me to leave because he thinks I have one.... I am required to leave.

You keep talking about people who uses guns Willy-Nilly to rob and steal at random... in Walmart and whatnot. Let me help you with the math... Florida was the 27th state to go Constitutional Carry... There are 50 states... 25 being 1/2... 27 being more than half... ergo... a majority. There are at least a dozen more states coming on board with Constitutional Carry. Soon...

There are 2 major reasons I will renew my permit for the state of Florida...

    1) if I buy a gun I do not have to wait 3 days before I can take it home. I can buy it and walk out the store 15 minutes later.
    2) Florida's permit is respected in ~35 other states...

This is why it'll never change. The left want to disarm laws abiding citizens not stop murders or whatever it is that they say they want.

They can tomorrow start locking up people who have illegal guns... They can tomorrow start locking up people who use guns during criminal offenses.

What we need is more police, harsher penalties for people who use guns while committing crimes.... We need more jails/prisons to hose these criminals who should be in jail for life, or waiting to be executed for their crimes...

If I'm in Canada my guns remain in a gun safe until I use them, at the range or hunting, where after I'm finished they are put back. If I'm in Florida they are mostly in a safe... But I carry one daily... I have a handgun safe at my beside when I retire for the day.

Now, it would make sense to go after the people causing problems... not the ones who aren't.

Mandatory minimums.... Take the discretion away from the prosecutors
    and judges....

That sounds nice, especially when the prosecutors and judges are on the take, but overall I believe judges need the discretion.

ex: You have a felon who has served his time. It's a crime for him to even hold a gun. I sees some kids playing with a (hopefully unloaded) handgun and, to protect the kids, he takes the gun away and talks to the owner of the gun. Now, if there were mandatory minimums, the ex-felon wouldn't have done that because it would have put him back in jail - for doing the right thing.

I think it would be better if we kept statistics on judges and prosecutors. ex: Number of people who were released who commit more crimes. If that number gets too high, the judge or prosecutor is removed from office, fined and not allowed to hold public office anymore. Now it's a job performance issue.

    Hello Joe,

You cannot carry a gun at WalMart. Regardless of age. Whether
    concealed or not.

    [..]

Actually you can carry a gun at Walmart...

WalMart banned guns inside their stores years ago.
Then WalMart decided it was okay to carry them concealed.
Later deciding to allow folks to do whatever they want,
as long as it is within state law. But asked shoppers to
not carry their guns in open sight.

    In Florida anyway...

WalMart has stores in several states ...

There are a handful of places I can't take my gun...

Gun free zones would be one of them.

    Hello Joe,

You cannot carry a gun at WalMart. Regardless of age. Whether
concealed or not. Not really sure about military or police, unless
this country is under invasion or something. Krogers also joined
WalMart on this. And also other places. Something about shoppers
not being too happy about having armed folks threatening to steal
    their groceries ...

Actually you can carry a gun at Walmart...

    Not legally.

    In Florida anyway...

    At no WalMart. Period.

There are a handful of places I can't take my gun...

    No kidding.

Schools, federal buildings... such as a post office...

Let's not forget about police stations ...

Hospitals that have a mental facility attached to it...

Mental hospitals for the criminally insane are hospitals.
But let's not limit ourselves to mental hospitals.

I can go to a restaurant, but not a bar...

    Some restaurants serve alcohol ...
and are otherwise indistinguishable from bars.

When I go to out to eat I ask not to be seated in the bar area...

    Sometimes that is not possible.

I can take my gun, concealed, into an Airport...

And have it confiscated, never to be returned.

not in part part of the airport where you've been screened...

If it is not stored properly, it will be confiscated.

    the clean area...

That is what a Republican congressman thought. Until he found out
otherwise. And to think he did it twice. The voters did not forgive
    him.

but the part where you would greet someone and go pick their luggage up....

Not to worry. Your gun will still be stored. Securely.

In Florida I can go into Walmart with my gun.

    And leave without it.

Even if there is a sign on the doors that says No Guns Allowed...

After the state of Florida passed its silly conceal without permit
law was when WalMart enacted its new policy. Whether there are signs
    posted is irrelevant.

NOW, if I'm in the store and the manager asked me to leave because he thinks
    I have one....

More likely security, rather than the store's manager.

    I am required to leave.

WalMart policy is no guns allowed. Krogers, CVC, Walgreens, and
    others have since followed suit.

You keep talking about people who uses guns Willy-Nilly to rob and steal at
    random... in Walmart and whatnot.

I find it irresponsible for Florida legislators to have passed
a concealed with no permit law. And even more irresponsible for
the Florida governor to have signed it into law. The end result
will be more innocent men, women and children dying. Needlessly.
But MAGA nutjobs do not care. Not about human life.

These people are criminals and they didn't need the Governor to sign a bill
for Constitutional Carry so that they can wave a gun around...

Doing away with AR15-style weapons would have made far more sense.
But that is not what MAGA nutjobs want, as saving human lives is not
their thing, or even on their radar.

Criminals were doing that before Ron was voted into office.

Most mass murderers get their AR15s legally, and neither the states
nor the federal government is willing to do anything to put an end
to those sales, thus allowing those mass murderers to continue doing
    their own thing.

People who carry a gun for self defense are not the people you need to worry
    about...

Ask the shooter who killed all those children at Parkland how
scared he was. Ask him why he opened fire on all those children,
who did nothing except smile at him as he shot them dead.

And then tell me why you continue to support the 2nd Amendment.

it's the criminals and they do care much about what laws say.

    Yeah. Right.

    Hello Joe,

Concealed carry without a permit in Florida. That is not the majority
of states, but only one of a small handful. Some have concealed carry,
but only with permit. Others have both. California and New Jersey do
not give residents any choice, their own versions of gun control thus
saving thousands of lives. Alabama is more libertarian, having almost
no gun control laws at all to speak of.

Let me help you with the math... Florida was the 27th state to go Constitutional Carry... There are 50 states... 25 being 1/2... 27 being more than half... ergo... a majority. There are at least a dozen more states coming on board with Constitutional Carry. Soon...

Concealed carry with no permit. That is the category Florida is in.
No training required. Just being of legal age, and not an ex-convict.

There are 2 major reasons I will renew my permit for the state of Florida...

As a resident of Florida, you have every right that is legal.

    1) if I buy a gun I do not have to wait 3 days before I can take it home. I can buy it and walk out the store 15 minutes later.

As do others in your state.

    2) Florida's permit is respected in ~35 other states...

Not all states are concealed carry with no permit. Not nearly
as many as those you cite. Nor even a majority of states.

If my name was Billy Joe Jim Bob and I never wanted to leave the state and I
wanted to legally carry a gun for self defense why get a permit... if you don't have to.

    That is their own choice.

Fortunately, nobody in their right mind in Louisiana would
name themselves Billy Joe, Jim Bob, or any combination thereof.

The Florida law makes no mention of drugs of any kind.

They don't have to mention it....

One can be high as a kite while packing heat.

    in that new law...

Permit or no permit it is not the drugs that kill people ...

because it is illegal already to carry a gun wile in possession of illegal drugs...

Guns do not kill people. People with guns kill people. Whether
high or not, the result is the same.

Actually you can carry a gun at Walmart...

    Not legally.

Yes legally in the state of Florida.... Where I carry... for the most part...

If there is a law... Lee... Show it to me... google it... In the state of Florida there is a handful places I can't go... Legally... So, I'm driving to my local Walmart in Citrus County Florida.... I have my gun concealed and I start to walk in... and I see a sign that says... Walmart is a gun free zone... I would disregard the sign and continue walking in... do my shopping and leave...

NOW, if I'm in the store and a manager sees or believes I have a gun and wants me to leave because they have a company policy that says no guns.... I have to leave... If the police are called because I didn't leave I'd be charged with trespassing and not any gun offense.

This is true if I visited you at your personal home in the State of Florida... you might have a personal rule that no guns allowed in your home... If I were to visit you and you later found out I had a gun... I did not break Florida Law.... I broke your rule... and if the police showed up they'd be looking at Florida laws and not your rules.

Here are the areas I cannot carry in the state of Florida

    1. Any police, sheriff, or highway patrol station

    2. Any courthouse, courtroom, or polling place

    3. Any school or college event that is unrelated to firearms

    4. Any school administrative building, elementary school, secondary school, college, or university facility

    5. Any establishment with the main purpose of serving alcohol

    6. Any place where federal law prohibits carrying a firearm

With the implementation of the permitless concealed carry law the present restrictions, barring the ability to carry a firearm in certain places, will remain unchanged.

Notice #5... This is the Bar/Resturant rule... If I go to a Bar and order some wings and I have a gun... I am breaking the law... A bar's main purpose is to sell alcohol and not food... So... I sit in the restaurant where it's main purpose is to sell food... It's seems stupid... because I can order alcohol in that restaurant while I have my gun...

I have a 13 year old.... If I go to pick her up... She walks to me.... If I get called into School... because of her attitude... I put my gun in a safe and park a block or so away from the school and walk in.

    For the reasons below...

    What about school zones?

The Federal Gun Free School Zones Act prohibits possessing a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school. There are, however, exceptions to this prohibition. These exceptions include:

    1. Having an unloaded, locked, firearm in a container or secured to a vehicle rack.

    2. Possessing a concealed carry permit from the state where the school is located. This means that a Florida concealed carry permit holder would be allowed to possess a gun within 1,000 feet of a school in Florida but not another state.

    3. Having a gun on private property. This includes your home, should it fall within 1,000 feet of a school.

The new Florida law may present challenges, particularly while driving around schools. There is currently an exception to the Federal Gun Free School Zone Act for those that have concealed carry permits. However, as Florida disposes of the conceal carry permit requirement, it may come into question how the new law will coincide with the Federal Gun Free School Zone Act.

Following the enactment of the new law, people will still have the option to obtain concealed carry permits in Florida. While one would need to go through the previously required training and application to obtain this permit, receiving the permit may present certain advantages. By obtaining a conceal carry permit one can ensure that they are not in violation with the Federal Gun Free School Zone Act should they pass within 1,000 feet of a school. Additionally, other states often have concealed weapons license reciprocity with Florida, allowing those with a Florida concealed carry permit to use that permit in their state. While a concealed carry permit will soon no longer be required in Florida, the advantages that one can still afford are important to consider.

That right Lee... and it's the same as 27 other states in the Union. Stop and read what I just wrote... Florida is one of 27 states who don't require permits to carry a gun. 1 of 27 if you didn't get it. So if there is no-legal reason you can't have a gun, and you are over the age of 21.. you can carry a gun in the state of Florida... Some of the other 26 states say you can be 18... Or even younger if it's a long-gun... Wisconsin and Kyle Rittenhouse... Kyle was legally carrying... Wisconsin law says 16 years and older can open carry a gun with a barrel more than 16 inches...

On the subject of guns, they choose to ignore the fact that people who carry concealed often know far more about gun laws (since they don't want to run afoul of them) then the average person. Of course, people like Lee are far below average intelligence. So this may be a Dunning-Kruger effect (nutshell: being so ignorant you don't know you are ignorant).

What the average person doesn't know is that CCW holders often have more range time than the average police officer and, so, is usually a better shot.

Was Hunter Biden even at the White House at the time?

and holding him responsible for the gun violations he's being confronted with....

    He was held accountable.

And lets not forget all the crimes against America he's accused of doing...

    Accused by who? What crimes?

Lets have a trial... lets see the evidence.

You need to have evidence first, then an investigation, then prove your case.

Why are you still carrying on about Hunter Biden?

Yes he was... they left @ ~ 6 or 7 PM on Friday night, they found it a little later... There were videos of him acting like he was high after they came home. Apparently cocaine doesn't stay in your system for a long time.... BUT... a hair sample will prove if he's clean...

    He was held accountable.

No he wasn't. The judge hasn't signed off on it yet... hopefully he'll be tested for drug use... Hunter is the first person in US history to have a deferred action on a weapons charge... Other Blacks and minorities go to jail... Hunter avoids it.

The Clinton body count is now ~71 People... I'm not sure if I know person... if I do I'll give them that. It's funny how the elites can make some problems disappear...

Yes, it's very funny. But it's also very alarming that they can
literally get away with murder like the Mafia.

Its been going on for some time now...

We're OK though... as long as we're insignificant we can have different views... it's not until we have an impact that we get shot on the streets of DC... where the police say things like attempted robbery and nothing stolen... and then the POOR DNC has to find a new IT person to maintain their mail servers because a breach just happened and emails were made public.. Kind of a thing...

So, stay under the radar and you'll be OK
