Jill Biden says that Texas Hispanics are "as unique as breakfast burritos."
The View brushes it off, but others have not been so nice about it,
calling the First Lady out of touch. She has apologized.

Meanwhile, in NJ, the father of a student attempted to read a passage from
a book that is available in his child's school library during a school
board meeting. The board cut off his mic, stating that they could not allow "pornography" (their words) to be read during a meeting that was being live streamed on the internet, for fear that children might be watching.

So I guess it is not ok for little Johnny or Suzy to hear "pornography"
(again their words) being read during a live-stream, but it is ok for them
to check it out of their school library and read it themselves. I guess reading it, instead of hearing it read, makes it not pornographic?

That's a lot of BS for hispanic people to swallow. Not all Texas hispanics are of Mexican descent. Plus I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and I've never seen a "breakfast taco" on the menu. There's a lot wrong with her comment.

If Jill don't know the difference between a taco and a burrito, then she ain't black.

I don't think she thought they were all Mexican. I think she was saying
that they are a diverse group, from different backgrounds, and made the
mistake of using "breakfast burritos" as something else that are also
unique, depending on their restaurant of origin.

That said, there is plenty wrong with her comment and, apparently, some hispanics did not appreciate it.

In my town, there are a lot of "Mexican" restaurants that are run by, or
that employ, people who are actually from Central American countries. One
of the better ones in town, several years ago, was run by a family from Honduras or Guatemala. They had to close shop and go back home to take
    care of family.

During COVID, I saw advertisements for a local restaurant that billed
itself as Central American. That is a first for this area. I did not go, because of COVID, and am not sure it is open still.

Whether they're diverse or not, the important thing is that we get them all here in the most degrading way possible. And of course Texas hispanics are diverse; they're all arriving there from different countries ;)

But notice the menus though: They'll offer "breakfast burritos," but not "breakfast tacos." Jill Biden should know that, but she seems to think that they're all just interchangeable words to use while refering to foods that her landscapers eat.

None of the ones I know of offer breakfast. OTOH, I was talked into trying
a McDonald's or Taco Bell breakfast burrito once. I would NOT recommend
    them! ;)

I may have misquoted her. I thought she said burritos but, now that you mention it, it may have been tacos. A lot of the folks poking fun at her
since have been using images of her eating tacos. You are right, I have
never heard of a breakfast taco before. If one of the above mentioned restaurants ever starts serving one, I will NOT be tempted to try it.

One of the leftists should be arguing that "tacos and burritos are the same thing,' or that "breakfast tacos are a new menu item in Texas restaurants." (Because some of these guys will say anything to defend a Democrat.)

That's bad luck. We get to choose from three Mexican restaurants within 5 minutes of our house for breakfast burritos - well, four actually, but one of them is so expensive that I wouldn't think of going there.

I used to work at an office that was in the "walk-out basement" of a strip
mall that also houses one of the better local Mexican restaurants
(actually, better locally run restaurants, period). They did not serve breakfast to the public but, based on the smells coming out of the kitchen along about 8 or 9am, I wondered if they didn't serve their employees
breakfast or allow them to cook their own. Whatever it was, it always
    smelled good!
