• oxp, w/deleted nodelist

From August Abolins@2:221/1.58 to All on Wed Apr 3 00:49:00 2019
    Hello!

I wrote about oxp locking up after a poll in a previous message.

The problem started after I added files for the nodelist configuration/ function.

I have now *deleted* all the files in the nodelist config.

Will this go out smoothly and recover control?

YEP. This went out very smoothly with *no* lockup after the poll.

Hmmm.. So, what do I need to do to work with a nodelist that won't lock
    up oxp?

Somebody reported a similar problem a while ago.

This sounds very similar to a problem reported by somebody else a
while ago but I need to ask a question before offering a possible
    solution .....

Are the *filenames* of your compressed *and* uncompressed nodelist
    files in UPPERCASE or lowercase?

    Martin

    Yes. <g>

    (I love "or" questions.)

I just copied the nodelist segments from WinPoint's DistribNL:

    Z2PNT.088
    NODELIST.088
    NET221.PVT

Suppose I asked for that :-)

I just copied the nodelist segments from WinPoint's DistribNL:

    That's why it didn't work.

    Z2PNT.088
    NODELIST.088
    NET221.PVT

Either grab a copy of NODELIST.Z88 from somewhere and install that or
zip up your existing copy of NODELIST.088(compressed filename MUST be
    in UPPERCASE(NODELIST.Z88)) and install that.

Whichever way you do it, you will need to delete everything in
OpenXP's FIDO directory and delete "NODELIST.LOG" from OpenXP's LOG
directory before you install the compressed nodelist.

Then poll your uplink and, hopefully, you shouldn't have any problems.

If everything went well, you need to do similar for the Z2 Pointlist
but OpenXP won't automagically configure everything for you this time,
you'll need to fill in the missing fields yourself.

Poll your uplink again and see what happens.

As for the Private nodelist, I've never used one so I'm not sure what
    to do with that.

    Regards,
    Martin

Too late. On a previous poll, my boss delivered new nodelists, and oxp complained. See the log segment in a previous message.

I now deleted the old *.088 and everything else in the /FIDO dir.

I renamed the newly delivered NODELIST.ZIP to NODELIST.Z95.

I picked that one through the nodelist install process, but then oxp beeps and complains to me in German something about an error with packer.

    "date wurd nicht korrekt enpackt."
