• webpoint: golded L)ist view

From August Abolins@1:0/0 to Martin Foster on Fri May 15 01:31:47 2020
    Sveiks Martin!

How does the L)ist view look on your side with webpoint?

Do you see a distinction between the unread messages from the read messages?

I've tried pretty much every colour theme offered here, but every line looks the same. Only the messages either addressed to me or by me stand out in bolded text.

I would have thought uber-Golded would have the read/unread matter working.

    Your thoughts?
    ..Aug

Hi August, do you know that I never noticed this thing? I don't know if golded + distinguishes you, I inquire and then let you know ...

    Bye

The answer is in the GOLDED echo(msgid 5ebe5de2).

However, neither you nor I can implement the feature in our WebPoint setup because we don't have access to our GoldED config file(s). This can only
be implemented by Thomas ..... are you listening Thomas? :-))

    Martin

Thank you. I "noticed" that message, but I couldn't find it with GoldEd+ using Alt-F (even with the headers visible) unless there is another way to search?

I would have written this using the pointweb account, but the battery on
my mobile device ran out of juice and the connection dropped. :( I
    couldn't log back int.

Hi Martin, I am trying to change in the configuration file "GEDCOLORxx.CFG" as the guide says by entering the entry:
"COLOR MENU UNREAD Cyan on Black"
but it seems that it is not taken into consideration and on new messages that arrive in areas by pressing the "L" key in the list there is no color change in new messages.
    Tips?

    Bye

Thanks. Saw that one. Good to know there is a simple solution. But I find it strange that the visual read/unread is not enabled by default.

All I can suggest is that you keep an eye on what's going on in the GOLDED echo about this problem.

Yeah well, shame it doesn't seem to work :(

Let's see if any further info comes out of the GOLDED echo.

You may have already seen this but my BossNode(Richard) has posted a definitive solution to this problem: see msgid 5ecf80a1 in the GOLDED
    echo.

For those users who aren't linked into the GOLDED echo, the solution is to add the following line to the golded.cfg file .....

    HIGHLIGHTUNREAD Yes

Thank you that worked perfectly! Is there a way to have golded default to message list view when you select an echo area, instead of just showing the next message? And in lieu of having to push "L"? Just curious...

THAT will be a nice improvement when it is enabled here, at Veleno!
