  • Text File Reader?

    So I've got thousands of old ASCII text files I'd like to put up on my Mystic BBS for users to view. I found a gfile reader module and it works but it's kinda clunky. I've tried the built-in ANSI Gallery but it doesn't display ASCII files correctly.
    Does Mystic have something similar to the built-in ANSI Gallery viewer so that ASCII text files could be viewed by the user from a directory listing?

    The gallery itself is really old so I have been meaning to redo it anyway, so maybe now makes sense to do that.

    There was MPL version of the ANSI gallery too which I might have around here somewhere.

    So it turns out some of my text files were bad, so ANSI gallery does actually work as an ASCII text file viewer. However, if you have subdirectories within the directory that you point it to, hitting Escape while in a text file brings you back to the
    subdirectory as it should, but hitting Escape again brings you back to the menu instead of the main directory. Not a big deal, but when you've got thousands of text files you don't want them all in one directory.

    I'll have to edit out "Group" and "Artist" from the top of the Gallery screen too.

    I also tried the File Viewer Demo but it looks like you can't point that towards a directory, only a file.

    Hitting escape exits the gallery no mattery how deep into subdirectories you are. Pressing backspace or selecting the previous directory in the list will move you back a directory.

    The reason I did it this way was that its really annoying to make someone go back through 3 or 4 subdirectories when all they want to do is close down the gallery.

    I have it on my TODO list to redo the gallery entirely so I can make that action configurable at that point.

    The file viewer is for viewing ANSI files, the gallery is for viewing files within a directory structure.

    The gallery uses the file viewer.
