When the commercial originally started, and I heard the Andy Williams Christmas song "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year", I thought
"Gad!! Christmas In July!! This is ridiculous!!".

As a side note, an area Hobby Lobby had Christmas stuff up in June.
It was like the song "Redneck Woman", where she keeps her Christmas
lights up all year long...and knows all the words to every Charlie
Daniels, Tanya Tucker, and Ol' Bocephus (Hank Williams, Jr.) song.

Well, when it got to the theme of the commercial (Back To School),

Until I was working in parking.
It was so nice over summer break, only a few hundred summer school
students on campus, life was easy, the lazy, crazy days of summer (to quote Nat King Cole). Summer time, when the living was easy, to paraphrase the Gershwin's.
But then came August and _they_ (said in a mix of dread disgust)
returned, the students. Like a plague of locust filling not the sky but campus.
When life went back to reality.

One didn't make as money then then as now as well, thanks to inflation.

process (cash or POS machine) I'll address the pre-teen boys
"little sir" or "yes, sir", "thank you, sir". The girls - I'd
use "little lady".

But seeing the difficult time it is to court employees to work, it has
made it a four letter word...especially when they're paid more to stay home.

In the New Testament of the Bible, the Apostle Paul said "If a man will
not work, he shall not eat". Now, that does NOT apply to those who are physically unable to do so (i.e. disabled)...but it DOES apply to the LAZY. This is the same logic for the "scooter carts" in the stores. I've seen
several memes where the battery died...right in the liquor aisle. Never
mind the miracle of turning water into wine...and along that line, there
was another meme, of bottles of water, still sealed, now having wine in
them. <G>

I can't recall my train of thought now either. :)
It was something along the lines of e-scooters batteries dying and users
just dropped them where they stopped. Not even moving them out of the way, cluttering up sidewalks, etc.
On campus they rental bikes. You have to return it to a proper area to
get your deposit back. We don't have them laying all over the place.

When I'm typing a message I watch the number in the Col: on the Status
Line on the bottom of MultiMail.

I try keeping the lines below 73 characters long because the last part
of my words might get lost if the system it goes through doesn't do a
Line Wrap or CRLF (Carriage Return Line Feed).

Who knows, there may be more than 73 Lurkers reading messages in this
Echo.

The Teletype Machines I used in the Navy would POUND that 65th spot
over and over until it either saw a CRLF or the Teletype Operator
would press a Button to make the Printhead go back to the start of a
line, and also Raise the Paper up one line so the new text wouldn't
mess up what had already been printed on the paper.

To get back on Topic: A Farmer told me when the Sun was so high that
he could put his foot on the shadow of his head on the ground, he knew
it was time to come to the house and eat.

That's a Memory isn't it?

That is what Twitter once did isn't it? I recall reading when it first
