When I was using the C=64 I was amazed at all of the things it could do
    in BASIC.

When I got my first pc, a IBC 286, it was quite easy for me to use DOS,
wince so much has been done in BASIC. My thinking was just change this to
    that and off I went.
Do I miss the days of having to enter command lines and running only one program at a time?
    Silly boy!
I miss them as much as hand cranks on automobiles.
But I do enjoy saying to young whippersnappers on their smartphones
something like "Back in my day..." from time to time. :)

But they've dropped some commands & I can't run most of my old utilities I found or created to make DOS work just as I wanted.

I don't think I have anything like that. Unless they are on a old CD and
no longer used or thought about.

I have RDK.exe for that -- Rock's Directory Killer - takes out an entire directory & everything inside

I have three folders: Z, ZZ, ZZZ for some temporary files.
Z is for more regularly used files of one sort or another.
ZZ is my default download folder rather then use the download folder for
Win. Its a lot easier to find.
ZZZ is rarely used and might just delete it someday.

I put them into an executable PKZIP file & emailed it to one of my yahoo accounts.

Occasionally I've installed a new Windows into a differently-named folder, just to see what tries to install into C:\WINDOWS by forced default folder. Ditto, I put the programs I've approved into C:\PROGRAMS, & don't create a "C:\PROGRAM FILES" for the same reason. Caught lots of spyware & scamware like that. . .

I'm just want to find a way to stop Microsoft from barging into my computer any time it wants, & force-downgrading me to their latest version of their spyware system, still called "Windows."
