I'm disappointed that we can't use changing societal norms and

    Absolutely.

Now, Mickey Rooney's portrayal of an asian character in "Breakfast at
    Tiffany's" is a whole different level. :)

Some older films/tv/radio programs have cringe moments at times.
I read where some group or other wants only certain people to play
certain roles. An Asian for Asian roles, etc. Fair enough. I agree.
I wonder what they would do with a remake of say "Peter Pan"? Would
certain groups demand only a one handed man play Capt. Hook? :)

When they re-did "The King and I", The Today show interviewed Chow
Yun-Fat. Matt Lauer asked him what he would bring to the role of the
King of Siam, that would make it different from the original, and he
paused and said, "Well, I'm Asian."

Sort of like the guy who said he sung for royalty. The other person
said "If that's singing, I'm the King Of Siam". <G>

This life of wine, women, and song, is depressing. I guess I'm going
to have to give up singing. <BG>
