So do I.... Next best thing, though, is a AAA membership, where one can NB>get as many maps (real folded printed paper maps) as one needs or NB>wants.... for free, as part of your membership.... That and the TripTiks NB>pretty much pay for my membership... and the road service stuff is
almost just gravy... :)
A definite bonus of working there, for sure.... :) And that would spoil NB>you for having to buy them at the store... especially as nowadays,
what's there to buy is blemished somewhat like as not.... :)

I have a AAA Premier Membership (around $110 a year), but get the
best benefits for roadside assistance, towing, changing of a flat tire, getting gas to make it to the nearest service station, etc.).
I do recall that they do have maps available in their west Little Rock office.
I also have an identity theft protection program through them,
and through Discover Card (total cost for both is around $20 a month). Considering I had my identity stolen over 10 years ago, I feel it's
worth the investment.
Unfortunately, since I've basically eliminated all travel outside of Arkansas, I won't be using their travel planning services. However, I wonder if there's a deal to check on "bedbug status" at the hotels. As noted, you don't want to be bringing those suckers back home with you!!

Microsoft's philosophy to a tee. :P

Dunno if they do check, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they do...
doesn't hurt to ask
I've had the Plus Membership for a long time... that has 100 miles NB>towing, which so far has been sufficient... I've had close (or just over NB>that) more than once, but never the 200 that the Premier would have

Those can be helpful, even for more local travel, as they'll have those NB>maps as well... :) In fact, I take advantage of that, by getting local NB>maps at the AAA offices in the areas I travel to.... I did that most NB>recently in the Baltimore/Annapolis MD area.... :)
Never have taken advantage of that sort of thing, nor of insurance NB>offerings.... Have used some of the discounts, though....

On one trip, I had EXPLICITLY told the hotel to
put me in a NON-SMOKING ROOM...and had booked it well in advance of the
trip. They put me in a SMOKING ROOM instead
That would be no problem in WV since all public areas (hotel rooms,
offices, etc) are all smoke free.
And many outside areas are smoke free as well and not just around
doorways, etc. For example Marshall University is smoke free (not just JM>tobacco, but vaping, dipping, chewing, etc).

The only problem there is someone with them could visit between inspections. They could be safe on Monday but by Wednesday someone
could have left them.
And there are times even the best hotels have them.

Thankfully, I haven't had to use it that often. One time, they
screwed up on dispatching someone...it had been 90 minutes since I had called, so I called them back. When they checked, and realized the
error, they got someone headed my way post haste. They also apologized, and said that "We won't count this one against your total...that was
our error". They even sent me a letter of apology.

I rarely go outside of central Arkansas anymore...as noted, too many
red flags.

Considering I'm a frugal cheapskate, any discount is worth it.

The problem is, the room could get infected the day before, and all
the others are sold out. On one trip, I had EXPLICITLY told the hotel
to put me in a NON-SMOKING ROOM...and had booked it well in advance of
the trip. They put me in a SMOKING ROOM instead, and I thought I'd die from suffocation during the night. I think they gave me a refund, but I wrote a nasty letter to the corporation on that. Nowadays, I'll just
post a nasty review on Facebook!!

Deleting all the picked files (DLL) did the same thing. Of course,
the system wouldn't boot up after that. :P
